I think one of the things that makes your villages so beautiful is definitely the exquisite variety and colour of plants/trees you use. Makes your village “pop” so much. Thank you for these videos!

I just could not stop smiling while watching your tour 😍 And thanks so much for explaining the technical stuff. I have two left hands as we say here... but am determined to get a serious build done. That is why I am starting in August. Watching youtube videos and setting up a dining room table designated for this purpose 😅 Today I asked lorry drivers who were delivering a fridge here in the neighborhood if they had some left over styrofoam and they were happy to give me a huge bag of left over packaging material. Nice way to save €€ because that is not cheap here... Next I will have to get a tool to burn through the material. And of course; binge watch your videos. 🙏✨🙋♀️

OMG, I am so thrilled seeing this that I might start break dancing any second. I LOVE everything you did here. The background with the twinkling lights are so cool. I love the multi-levels of your village. That adds so much depth it isn't even funny. I really appreciate how you taught us to hide the street light wires, as well as the lights that go to the village houses/businesses. The colors you used with the picks are so cheery, festive, and beautiful. The people just make this village come to life. I can see a story here about this town. It's a festive, friendly, town with much Christmas spirit. That church you used as a backup is gorgeous. I guess you didn't find the cord to the main church you wanted to use huh? It's okay, because it still all worked out in the end. Lastly, you are a village decorating genius. Now, let me turn on the jukebox so I can try out my break dancing moves. I'll probably end up in traction at the hospital. I'm old ya know. haha.

Beautifully done, your voice is so soothing and relaxing to listen to....thank you so much - its all the information I was looking for - my street lamps, cords and platforms.....thank you thank you thank you.

Hi Miriam, Another great video. Your village is really coming along. I'm a bit jealous as I seem to be floundering, and making little to no progress on mine. *sigh* A few ideas did pop into my squirrel brain while I was cutting grass today. I'm also currently working on my next art project. Interestingly enough, it was while cutting the grass that I got the revelation that part of what I was making for my art project could also be used in my village. Now that's a 2-for1 deal I can get behind. When I saw your video notication on my sidebar on KZfaq yesterday, I texted Mom that a new one had appeared and to wait so we could watch it together. While we were watching, I smiled and even laughed a bit because you were having a few issues. The cord to your church was missing. You made a hole in the styrofoam that had to be remade. You even cut the cobblestone paper a bit too short. I looked at Mom and said, "Miriam is just like us! She makes mistakes too!" Hahahaha! You know I'm saying all of this with love in my heart. You always seem so on point and put together. It was a bit reassuring to see that you have some of the same issues that the rest of us do. Hope you find your missing cord. Can't wait for the next video. This village is really starting to take off. As always wishing all the best to you and yours.
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
😂🤣😂. I run into issues too while building. I have to be creative or think outside the box to solve some of my issues. Don’t stress, we all go through it, we just have to be every bit inventive to fix our roadblocks. 😃 Ooh, a current project that you could double in your village sounds amazing. What is it going to be? Or do you want it to be a surprise? Yes, the village is finally coming along. Now that the front is done, I am so excited to get started on the rest. My projects for next week are going to be great!!

I just was wondering how you put all your trees and cord tunnels without being afraid of damaging your bases so they can be reused in other setting. May be in the end of the season you can make a quick tutorial on how to repair surface of bases? It would be great!
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
Hello Anna, That is a great question. The larger trees leave minor holes in the styrofoam and the evergreen trees leave such a tiny holes, it is not even visible. The cord tunnel will require a small repair but it is an easy fix. I can definitely do a video showing how to repair that once I take my village down next year. You might need to remind me when the time comes. 😂
@ljmadden12012 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy your video’s. Are all your villages made up of groupings that are. Blended together. I keep my village up all year round above my kitchen cabinets. I have been trying to figure out a way to make them pop more. Making huge mountains intimidates me. You make it look so easy. Thank you for making these videos.
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
Hello LJ, thank you so much! I do use a variety of different brands and mix and match them together. I also have distinct areas laid out in my village to mirror an actual town. So I will have a town square, business district, neighborhood, etc. all of these things together make up the town. I hope that answers your question. Regarding making a platform or mountain, maybe start small and get your feet wet. I have a video on how to make a small platform, only using styrofoam, hot wire, and paint. I will send you the video link to that one. Once you get the hang of it, you can expand to harder projects.

First, I would like to say how inspiring you have been. I am stepping up my village game this year, thanks to you. I always set my village up on top of my kitchen cabinets so it is only seen from below. I'm in the process of making bases for the buildings. I have purchased some new fences. I see that you glue your fences and street lights down. Do you use hot glue or low melt glue? And does the glue come off the fence and the base when it is time to put the village away? I want to reuse the bases every year so I don't want the fences and street lights permanently attached. Or do you only attach them to the street paper? Thanks again for all the inspiration!
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
Hello Cindy, I’m so glad to hear my videos have offered you inspiration. Yes, I do glue down my fence and street lamps but only on my plain styrofoam and the paper. I rarely glue down anything on the mountains and bases I make. If you plaster it, the hot glue can be easily removed without damage. If it’s just styrofoam, when you remove your piece, it will take a piece of the styrofoam with it. Another option you can use without damaging the styrofoam is a product called zots. You can buy these at Walmart, Amazon, Michaels, and other craft stores. I have attached a link below for you. www.walmart.com/ip/Zots-Clear-Adhesive-Medium-sized-Dots-300-Pieces/19862356?gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIqwlubVorZgXabrE3XtP69BP&wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=101027399&&adid=22222222228000000000&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=42423897272&wl4=pla-51320962143&wl5=1013462&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=253095604&wl11=online&wl12=19862356&veh=sem&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIqwlubVorZgXabrE3XtP69BP&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI392J7OLS8wIVOWxvBB0IdQ64EAQYCSABEgJL8vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hi Miriam, Loved your videos on how you put your village together. It took us a little over a month to put up 54 square feet of village. I was wondering about the hot glue on the lights, roads, fence in your Christmas Village 2021. Does the hot glue cause an issue with the lights (shorting them out) and how do you remove the items when you take them down. Does that cause an issue with the foam or the item? I live out of the country and have to order almost everything for my village which takes time to get everything. I use floral pins to hold the items in place but it is not ideal. Thanks
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
Hello Kevin, thanks so much. The hot glue has never damaged any of my pieces. I have had the same lights and roads for at least 3 years and some for 5 and they are still working great. To remove the glue from the bottom of the piece, I just take a razor blade or my finger nail and scrape off the bead of hot glue. A little bit of the styrofoam might come off when you remove the item but it hasn’t impacted me using the same styrofoam boards. I have actually used the same boards now for 4 years.

Your village looks beautiful! I just started collecting about 4 yrs ago, so it''s no where near what you have here. Can I ask, where do you purchase your buildings and people? I had mine set up, took it apart to put the train around it, Had to go get another surge plug, put it back together again, didn't like the way it looked, so I took it all apart and put it up. Maybe next year will be better.

Absolutely lovely!! I'm from Canada, so I am wondering where you get all the Lemax people? We are somewhat limited here with only a few stores carrying that brand and with limited merchandise. You keep mentioning, something with the word Hobby in it. Can you tell me where you get your items from? Thanks, so inspiring!

Hello Jasmine. I order them online at www.ehobbytools.com. They do ship to Canada.

Looks great! I like the use of Styrofoam for hiding cords and easy planting of trees. I assume your Styrofoam is not adhered to the plywood?
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. No, it is not attached to the styrofoam. 😀

Hey Deborah, Thanks so much. So far I probably have spent about 20 hours building bases and putting this together. I’m not even halfway done though. This village will take a lot of time.

Thank you so much for posting. I have learned several new techniques I’m going to implement this year. Where did you get the flat styrofoam?
@MiriamsManner7 ай бұрын
They are insulation foam boards from Lowe’s or Home Depot. I get the ones that are 1 1/2” thick.

Hi there sorry for all the questions I’m binge watching lol I’m sure you answered somewhere but where do you get the Christmas trees. Do you strictly use the le max ones ? I see someon Amazon but sizing is my question too since I’ve never done a village ? I know it’s probably personal preference …
@MiriamsManner Жыл бұрын
Hello Cari, your questions are great. That's what we are all here for, we all give lots of good feedback to each other. I buy a variety of different trees. It's good to have lots of styles and heights of trees. I have bought the evergreens they sell at Walmart in all of the sizes. I also have a ton of the Lemax evergreens in all sizes. I also make a lot of my own trees. If you keep binge watching 😂, I'm sure you will come across my Christmas Village Tree videos.

One of my lights in my village last year melted the styrofoam (which I didn't know until I took the village down!). This year I used LED light strings and it's just not bright enough. Is there a special bulb that you use for the buildings?
@MiriamsManner2 жыл бұрын
I use the type of lights that come with the buildings. If I buy replacements bulbs, I buy the same type of light but in a multi strand. I attached the link below for you. Also, I don’t ever have lights sitting directly on foam, I know I have seen others do it but it’s just not a risk I’m willing to take. I do get concerned about stuff catching fire, especially with the blanket snow. www.walmart.com/ip/Holiday-Time-10-Light-Cord-with-5-Clear-Bulbs/923929670?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=2554&adid=22222222278923929670_117755028669_12420145346&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=501107745824&wl4=pla-293946777986&wl5=9030164&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=923929670&wl13=2554&veh=sem_LIA&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIr-osmweuBYWVIJ2tK1IxoSh&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIr-osmweuBYWVIJ2tK1IxoSh&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt6vzydTt9AIVzBmtBh2ZtgLHEAQYASABEgKGM_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hello kaylee, I buy almost all my figurines from www.Ehobbytools.com. If you type “ethnic” in the search menu on their website, all of the ethnic figurines will pop up. Also, I do paint a lot of my figurines.
