This lecture discusses the controversy over the person of Christ in the early Church from the Council of Constantinople I (381) until the Council of Chalcedon (451) addressing the Christology of figures such as Cyril of Alexandria, Nestorius of Constantinople, and Pope Leo the Great. Additionally, the heresies of Eutchyianism and Nestorianism are defined and explained along with the orthodox alternative as presented by the Chalcedonian Decree.
