Does the mac setup run smoothly when displaying to an external monitor? Because I have tried the same with my Lenovo Ideapad flex 5 but the display is slightly laggy (hdmi to hdmi). I can see a bit of the flickering when I scroll through KZfaq or some other websites.

Definetely one of the most asthetic and useful pleasing desk setups I have seen in a while with a lot of honest opinions! My personal favourite upgrade would definetely be the standing desk, since the covid I got moved to working at home and having to spend closely to 12 hours a day sitting down has been very hard and I feel it in my body, unfortunately I could never manage to afford a desk like this. Anywho, keep up the videos I love the way you speak!!

Thanks! From one guy who spends too many hours sitting in front of a screen to another... I highly recommend looking up "Pigeon stretch", "Lying leg cross stretch", and stretches for the Quadratus Lumborum. I stand as much as possible at the desk, but obv still end up sitting a majority of the time. These stretches will help combat muscle tightness and back pain that comes with sitting 🤝

Really like the clean look. Allows you to focus. Some items caught my attention: OrbitKey Nest allows for an aesthetic layer of organization and Kuxiu 3-In-1 Wireless Charger is a great compact charger. Both are grab and go wich to me is a must in a setup Great video with good tips.

That slipdrive pouch is genius! I use velcro to secure my drives to my laptop when commuting and while it works great, the drive is always getting attached to other stuff!

As a college student I can confirm that the SSD is truly worth investing in, because not only we gets extra space but also its super portable to cary then a laptop and to plug it in to someone's laptop to present it's content 😉 instead of hovering in your pc

Posture is so important. I need to stop putting off getting an adjustable standing desk. Thanks for the recommendations! My personal favorite desk/office item is my HomeFi hotspot. @imatruedrew - My can’t live without is a palm glider! Sits under mouse palm and slides over the desk so there no pressure on your wrist and makes working much easier. This is a great list, couldn’t work or play in my office without my books and plants too.

I've seen a lot of hype for those and I stil don't see a use for it. Do you do a lot of hand writing in an otherwise dark room?

@@soundboy89 I always thought they were more of a nicety than necessity. But mine came yesterday and is surprisingly nice. From what I've read, the asymmetric light projection can reduce eye strain and some of the higher-end models help filter out harmful wavelengths of light from some monitors. I can't confirm or deny. All I can say is that it's been nice so far and will give some thoughts on it in a future video after more time using it 🤝

I'm glad you gave it a try, yes the reason I got that was because of eyestrain. as long as the lightbar doesn't cause the screen glare, it will help reduce the strain. Also the ambiance..if you get a temp color changing one. @@Christomshack

Good to know the posture check. I personalty will benefit from the monitor arm or the dock because I often switch between my work laptop and personal one. The Instagram is the same except the last underline

Having a work station like this would be a dream come true. Right now I stand when I work even though my desk does not raise up. And that’s standing while using my walker! And the reason why I stand is because my chair hurts me so badly. I am older, 62, and have had MANY broken bones and on top of that situation I have a spinal cord injury. So I do have many complications on trying to find what would work best for me. If you have any other suggestions for my situation I would love to hear about them. And my favorite item from the video? Oh my, how could one choose? HA HA HA. I of course loved it all as I am sure everyone else did. I suppose my favorite would be the chair. Thank you for making these videos. It really helps. 🩷

The Cal Digit is great (I got one) ….except…….it has no on/off switch which keeps the units light on - at all times unless you unplug the unit.

Aside from the desk, grovemade desk mat. Desk Mat or even your mx keys can change the entire feel vibe aesthetics of your setup since it sits underneath everything. Once you remove it, your entire desk looks different

Still chugging along with Alfred for now, although always open to the idea of better options. I tried Raycast in the past, but didn't see a big enough benefit to switch over. Which features stand out to you over Alfred?@@wireshark101

@@Christomshack TBH I still use Alfred. I'm used to the format and have a power pack license so like you not seeing a massive benefit over switching. I've only being using Mac OS for about a year and enjoy finding new was to increase productivity. This is how I came about finding your channel which has been really helpful. The Anker hub may have less ports, but it offers much of the same functionality as the dock - Can't recommend it enough! Alternatively to the webcam, you can mount and use your iPhone as a 4k webcam. Sure, it lacks the cool AI features of the Insta360, but it will drastically improve image quality. Apple sells the Belkin iPhone Mount with MagSafe for Mac on their website and there are cheaper options on amazon 👍

I've tried stacked monitors before. It always seems to cause some uncomfortable viewing angles. My guess is you will be looking at the big monitor a lot more than the small one. Just put the big monitor at a comfortable viewing angle (a little below eye level) and the other smaller monitor (laptop) to the side. If you invested in a nice kb and mouse, why do you have your laptop on that angled bracket? Trying to make room for that giant desk pad? I try to get my monitors, peripherals (MnK) in a good location then use whatever space you have left for plants, lamps, knickknacks. Just my opinion after trying a number of setups myself. Good luck.

I ordered the largest desk pad size that fit perfectly on my deeper desk, but it's admittedly a little large for this one. The laptop stand elevates the screen enough to where the screen, as well as the monitor, are in perfect alignment with my eyes, so it has worked out well!
