Joe was always against Tony Stewart racing anything other than his Cup car. I see the business side of it, but Joe also has to realize it comes with the territory and that they are racers. It's what they do. I'm pretty sure that statement from Bell is the first step in him being released from JGR. No biggie. Bell is probably in talks with SHR anyway as long as Tony stays an owner in it.

Don’t forget, he was a great football coach that really did not care about his players. It was only about winning.

As a Hamlin fan I see Gibbs falling out of the new Nascar. This shows it more listening to Bell. He is a great driver and dirt has helped that.

Gibbs has been a good owner by using his money to hire the right people. Now it seems like some of those people are tired of him on a personal level and are jumping ship or preparing to.

CBell is the future of JGR. MTJ bout to retire, Denny is in a contract year and retiring soon, and Ty has 0 respect and 0 notoriety, maybe some potential in a few years tho. Not to mention, look how many of these drivers race in dirt in any platform... CBell, Larson, Busch (and his son), Briscoe, Harvick (and his son), retired drivets Clint (and his son) are at dirt tracks, Tony still races dirt. Even look at Matt Crafton who branched into dirt, and Stew Friesen who came FROM dirt into trucks.

Rick Hendrick was also very against this until a few years ago. He allowe bowman and Larson to dirt race and now look bowman broke his back.

That's because he (Gibbs) does not have the skill to drive a dirt track it's much harder to drive on dirt then asphalt. Brovo Bell for telling it like it is!!

Bell is my favorite driver and clearly the top JGR team ATM. I just hope he doesn't stay there long term and goes to a Hendrick, SHR, Penske, Track House, anywhere, but that sinking ship.

JGR is slowly seeping into being Toyota's version of Roush after the 2000's. Go from tearing up the field, to top stars leaving, and those who remain are unhappy. Only time will tell when it starts to affect the teams performance.

I understand the amount of money invested in their drivers, but you can hear it in Bells tone that he is simply finishing out his contract.

That is crap. This is coming from a 57 year-old crusty guy. You can never get time back. There is no reason you can’t do both and you should explore all aspects of racing that peak your interest. You are a talented driver who will never be without a seat. Joe needs you way more than you need him. Get back to the dirt at your earliest opportunity. It makes you a more talented and happy driver.

Guys were all knocking Joe here but Elliot season ultimately was fanned because of a snowboarding incident and bowman came back and couldn’t perform after a back injury while driving winged sprint cars on dirt . As much as I disagree with it and believe that they should be allowed to race outside of nascar and hone their craft , I def can see joes point of view

I don't know how you really feel that's calling out Joe Gibbs????To me it's just a nascar driver with dirt track racing roots speaking the truth letting people know why he's not dirt track racing and that he won't be anytime soon. Sucks but such is life it is what it is. If you remember back when Smoke started racing dirt he ran for Gibbs and was in the hunt for a title, broke his leg racing a sprint car and there went that. I think that's when Gibbs implemented the no dirt track racing deal it's not an uncommon thing for nascar owners to do that. If you notice Larson hasn't run that many dirt track races at all since joining Hendricks Motorsports. Jus sayen!!!

Christopher is also the lowest paid Cup driver with a top team. He makes $500,000 per year compared to Ty Gibbs making $1,000,000 a year and Hamlin and Truex both making north of $10 million per year. I expect him to either get a huge raise or Toyota will lose him. I can see him replacing Alex Bowman or possibly moving to Ford and being a third driver for RFK. As we know, Jack alwats allowed Stenhouse to race outside of NASCAR.

CBell is the present and part of JGR/Toyota's future. Joe likely wants to reduce any and all risks of Bell getting injured. And Gibbs is not the only old fashioned owner to do this, Penske and Hendrick have also been adamant about this. Hendrick has loosened up in recent years tho. I think Gibbs and Bell need to agree to Bell doing 5-10 a year personally
