I'm sorry but he was my favorite doctor...it's terrible that he isn't even making a cameo in the 50th anniversary :(
@SamXander2310 жыл бұрын
Was he busy filming Thor 2 when they were doing the 50th?

I loved him as The Doctor...he's one of my favourite actors. Something obviously happened during his time to make him very bitter towards it. When he's asked about it in interviews, he makes it clear that it is something that he's put behind him and wants nothing to do with, which is sad when you consider that he is the Doctor that brought a whole new generation of fans to the show. Had his Doctor not been so brilliant, the comeback could have been a complete failure. It's nice to see him happy in this interview, talking about something that he enjoyed doing.

lol, don't you mean if his Doctor hadn't been so fantastic? :)
@Voileen10 жыл бұрын
yeah he reacts to it a bit the way Harrison Ford does to Han Solo/Star Wars (when its mentioned). Avoids talking about it as much as possible. I think he is the most well rounded actor of the bunch as far as what he has done overall before and since Doctor Who. I think that is a big part of why he doesn't cling on to it. It was such a short stint for him, he wants(ed) to focus on bigger and better projects (at least to him)

Voileen He is one of my favourite actors, and had been for years before he played The Doctor...ever since I saw him in "Let Him Have It"in 1991. I agree that he is the best actor to ever play The Doctor, along with John Hurt, and I understand that it was just one job out of many for him. It's just that when you play The Doctor, you will ALWAYS be The Doctor to fans of the show. And his Doctor in particular was responsible for bringing a whole new generation of fans to the show. Perhaps he was unprepared for how popular the show would be when it came back, and how popular his Doctor would be.

This movie could've introduced Chris to an international audience. I'm a little bummed that this didn't propel him into doing more movies across the world.

@ChrisRivel10 жыл бұрын
Yes, but Paul McGann said he wasn't either, but we have an 8 minute, 8th Doctor prequel... 8 days before the 50th.
@cassini200510 жыл бұрын
actually "Night of the Doctor" is just under 7 minutes, and it's 9 days before(depending on your time zone). but he is the 8th, so it's sequential, at least:) plus it is(was) his birthday as well!

Hm, let's see what they think of his work on Thor. Proceed to scroll down. *CONSISTENTLY CONSTANT THREADS OF DOCTOR WHO* I love Doctor Who, probably more than the Marvel movies, but holy geez.

Yeah. It would have been even better if the day of the doctor had the 9th as well as the 8.5th, 10th, and 11th.

I saw this movie last week with another whovian and neither one of us noticed it was him. Anyway, it's sort of weird that he would go back into the fantasy genera when he seemed to hate being the Doctor.

Like Christopher Eccleston says though he's playing a pretty classic villain with easily understandable motivations and goals. You don't necessarily need a 20 minutes explanation of why the dark elves like things dark. More time for Loki...

I’ll take any excuse to hear Eccleston talk
@OptimisticCynic10 жыл бұрын
shame they cut out scenes, his character really wasnt much of a presence but hes still briliant for what was there but there was literally a scene used twice- without spoiling anything- of a news report so if it was for time why was that not cut for more scenes with him, but still great movie and atleast loki was excellent

I love Christopher Eccleston! I wish they didn't cut the scene he was talking about that would explain his character's history more... but I guess, that'll take more time, and maybe the movie works without those anyway. Excited to see the movie!! \(^o^)/

he is so excited for a compelety forgetabble villain.
@Deathlygunn9 жыл бұрын
Apparently he shot a lot more scenes and was originally quite a memorable and layered villain, but then Marvel asked for more Loki, and most of Christophers scenes got cut from the final film

Eccleston thought he was too good for Day of the Doctor, far from it. Good riddance.
@MReviewsChannel10 жыл бұрын
He actually wanted to come back, but he didn't want to if Nick Hurran directed it. He asked for a specific director, they turned him down, so he didn't join TDOTD.
@rockandrollfan4706 жыл бұрын
MReviews I'm not sure that's true. I don't know where you read that. He was sent a letter and rejected the role as he had problems with Doctor Who. The reason he left.
