I would love to see a Nolan Bond…but honestly, it might be better for all of us if he never gets it. Let me explain: Spielberg wanted Bond, he didn’t get it, so we got Indiana Jones. I’d love to see Chris Nolan go off and make his version of Bond and potentially make another iconic film character.

Hear me out.... We finally do a young bond. Asa Butterfield, everyone thinks of him as a kid but as an adult he is 6 foot, 26 years old, could play a bond who just got out of the military. He's got the bright blue eyes.

With all due respect to Christopher Nolan, there is absolutely no chance that producers Broccoli and Wilson will let him have complete control of the next Bond film, let alone cast the next Bond. THEY are in charge of the Bond franchise, period. Quentin Tarantino wanted to direct Casino Royale back in 2006, on the basis that he have complete control of the film, and it came to nothing for him.

Completely different scenario. Tarantino wanted Pierce Brosnan in the role but have the movie set in the 1960s and shot entirely in black & white. From a Broccoli and Wilson perspective that didn't make a lot of sense when they wanted to use Casino Royale as a starting point for a new Bond actor. I don't normally agree with everything the Broccoli's have done, but I agree this was the best approach rather than just use Fleming's book as a one-off novelty movie. By total contrast, Nolan would be looking to make 2 movies and help launch and define the next Bond actor into a series of movies, rather like Terence Young did with Dr. No and From Russia with Love.

Nolan should do a brand new Matrix trilogy without any of the original actors returning. Start fresh. Maybe do an origin story. I think he would absolutely crush it.

So HR really doesn't then because there's no way they'll give him 100% power and authority. He should just create his own James Bond dish franchise (Tenet and Inception don't count). After all that's what Steven Spielberg and George Lucas did with the Indiana Jones franchise.

To be honest, as much as I would love to see a Nolan "James Bond" film, he's going to have to learn how to shoot a fight scene properly IMO. That would be my only reservation. Oh, and the dialogue sound mix!

Watching some of the action scenes in Tenet (especially the Kitchen scene) should show just how exciting Nolan's Bond could be. Imo Bond needs a masssive overhaul in order to stand alongside some of what the newer Mission Impossible series has brought and someone like Nolan could do it.

Since their inception (pardon the pun) in the early 60’s, Bond movies have always been cast and micromanaged by their producers. I just don’t see the current producers, Barbara Brocolli and Micheal G Wilson, yielding full control of the franchise to Nolan. I’m happy to be proven wrong though if a deal can be struck with Nolan.

everyone keeps insisting that Nolan is some sort of cinema genius? And yet he wants to instill his values into a long standing movie franchise that has not ask for him? Nolan knows that Bond is an amazing opportunity. Trust me, Barbara Broccoli is the real winner here since she can get Nolan (a genius) even interested in working for her!

They can do a deal if necessary. Nolan gets full control with certain caveats, like no time jumping or Nolanesque time/perspective gimmicks, and he gets full control of everything else within that remit. They already know that Nolan doesn't make bad movies, and that he delivered one of the best trilogies in cinematic history under similar circumstances. They also know that they are up against Mission Impossible which sells itself on practical effects, and not BS like invisible cars, something Nolan is a mater of. They would be fools to turn him down. That said, the ultimate decision they would have to agree on would be whoever plays Bond for the foreseeable future, because that would be set in stone even after Nolan left the franchise.

Skyfall is a very Nolan-esque film. In my opinion, the best of the Daniel Craig movies. Give Nolan a Bond trilogy! Who wouldn't be absolutely pumped about that 😎

Funny you say that. The Brocollis were very influenced by Batman Begins and it spurred their decision to reboot the Bond series with Casino Royale for a more gritty & grounded style. Skyfall has quite a few touches of The Dark Knight in it.

Let him take the reins like he was given on Batman: a stand-alone trilogy (or duology since that’s so hot right now) that lets him put his own specific stamp on the material, not connected to anything other than what he writes for the character. Basically a one time deal to tell a James Bond story the way he wants to tell it and then move on.

Best moment for him - when one era has ended and new one not started yet. I can see a scenario where he send his pitch or sceneopsis to Brokleys and they decide: ok go, its your movie now. Or no thank you, we will go our way

I would trust Christopher Nolan to take control of a Bond film, as he is a longtime Bond Fan. I would not trust Spielberg, even though he is a fantastic director, because he is not a huge Bond fan that I know of. Let Nolan write, cast, & direct a Bond film.

The Broccolis should just hand Nolan the keys to the Bond franchise for the next three films. Craig's Bond died, so this is the perfect time for Nolan to step in and reboot the series and do something with 007 like he did with the Dark Knight trilogy. There are original angles that Nolan could take with this character without deviating from the what makes Bond...James Bond.

I really REALLY loved what he did with Robert Pattinsons character Neil in TENET. If Robert Pattinson were bond I think he’d do an incredible job, it’d be a different type of bond for sure and maybe even a more tech and gadgets reliant bond but I think he’d look incredible doing it

It would be perfect timing to do it considering they're rebooting and looking for a new Bond. Only problem I see is that Amazon/MGM and the Broccoli's might want him signed for 3+ movies if he wants full creative control and I don't think he'd be commited to that many movies/period of time.

Been saying he should do a Bond film since 2010, after the “Mountain Scene”’in Inception. Now would be a great time too because he could establish who the new Bond is since the Craig era is over. And for the most part Bond films are inherently standalone so he does not need to worry about establishing a new franchise and setting up sequels. I would love to see a Nolan Bond film, and it would probably be a film that challenges M:I with practical stunts, and they need that since really now Mission: Impossible is the modern Bond, with it’s crazy stunts and exotic locations.

This probably explains why no new Bond has been announced. The producers I am sure would give him a complete free rein including who he would like to play Bond. Tom Hardy might be more of a favourite as a consequence.

Look, I think Nolan would be incredibly committed to Bond and his involvement would be huge press and positive interest for the franchise.... I do think the powers that be should hand him the keys to Bond for a trilogy, and once agreeing on an outline for the three films, let him run with it. Maybe Nolan only directs the first film to set the tone and produces/co-writes the other two. But I think Nolan would be fantastic at casting and directing within the Bond universe, and now is the time with Craig retired from the role.

If there's anyone in the world who can be trusted to helm a James Bond film with complete creative control, it's CHRIS NOLAN. He has proven himself time after time that he can make an excellent film when you provide the money and let him get on with his work. Why else should he be trusted? A good example of this is the Batman franchise. For as long as I can remember, Michael E. Uslan and Benjamin Melniker have held the Batman film rights and in that time we've had some terrific Batman stories told on the big screen, coincidentally a few of them by Nolan himself. While Uslan still holds these rights, never have I heard of him interfering with the directors in regards to the story or casting. Just a small proof that you can be in charge of a franchise and let the director take charge of the film. Easiest way to do this, just hire Nolan, giving him complete control for one film, with an option for a second and possibly a third, if he meets or exceeds your expectations. Worst-case-scenario: you're dissatisfied with his performance and reset after one film. To the Broccoli's: If you're putting Nolan in charge of the next Bond film, take my money NOW!

I would think if he did do this, it would have to be in the vain of his Batman movies. I’m not talking style, but his Bond would have to be a 3, or 4 movie package deal. That way he controls the story and casting. They then could then move on to a new Bond. What do you think about that possibility?
