Did you know that Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour hooked up on the set of 1980’s Somewhere in Time and that their relationship blossomed into a lifelong friendship that lasted until Christopher’s death? 1980’s Somewhere in Time remains one of the most timeless romantic films of its decade, and a big part of the film’s appeal is the romantic scenes between stars Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. As it turns out, the two stars weren’t faking it! Christopher and Jane started up a romantic relationship during the filming of the classic picture, though that relationship came to an end before filming closed as a result of Christopher getting back with his pregnant ex-girlfriend.

Christopher Reeve went on to try and make things work with ex-girlfriend Gae Exton, while Jane went on to marry third husband David Flynn and have a child of her own. Christopher and Gae’s first child was a son by the name of Matthew, and they had one more before separating in 1987. Their second child was daughter Alexandra. Following Christopher’s separation from Gae, whom he never married, he went on to marry his first and only wife Dana in 1992.
Christopher and Dana Reeve had one son together before Christopher’s tragic 1995 horseback-riding accident that caused the actor to become paralyzed from the neck down. Upon learning about the accident, Jane Seymour was devastated. She was pregnant at the time with her and fourth husband Stacy Keach’s first child, and she went on to name that child Kristopher in honor of her former lover.
Christopher and Jane remained lifelong friends after the filming of Somewhere in Time, even if their romance wasn’t meant to be. Today, Jane can barely watch the film without crying, especially in the wake of Christopher’s 2004 passing. Somewhere in Time, in my top 10 movies of all-time, one of the very few romantic movies I actually love. only 3 movies have ever brought me to tears... when Elise (Seymour) slipped away from Richard (Reeves) at the end of this movie, this was one of those times. the soundtrack is just as beautiful as the movie. I really love this movie... so, so much!!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon on Mackinaw Island, the location of the filming of Somewhere In Time in 1997 ! We visited a number of the scene locations, and even managed to duplicate the " Is it you ? " done at the waters edge. Taking the same poses in a couple of what are very special photos for my wife and I ! Strangely, only two years later, in October 1997, I would also become paralyzed as well, thanks to a careless driver ! While still in intensive care 10 days later, Chris was so incredibly kind to send me a personal letter of encouragement ! ( Which I have framed in our bedroom ) ! Along with a hardbound copy of his book " Still Me " ! Which I cherish to this day ! We were able to meet each other a few years prior to his death, at which time I was able to thank him in person for his incredibly thoughtful letter, and gift ! I can tell you, Chris was a kind, and down to Earth great guy ! I am honored to sit on the board of a different paralysis foundation, and we spent the grand majority of our time discussing the future of spinal cord injury research, and the hope of one day being able to walk again ! It is my intention to contact Will, and share with him how highly I thought of his Dad ! Thanks for doing this video, it genuinely brought back fond memories !

Somewhere In Time is one of my all time favorite movies. I was dating a girl at the time and felt a special connection to her that I still feel today. Our body types at the time are similar to theirs. Even though we haven't talked or seen each other for since that time, I still feel the same about her. True Love makes hope spring eternal.

I Absolutely love this movie, I think it is a Cinema Masterpiece. And I'm sure it wasn't easy for either one to break things off, I can see why Jane Seymour was still able to remain friends with Christopher Reeves because he was Trying to do the right thing and if you truly love someone you understand. Christopher Reeve and I share the same birthday and were born within a half hour apart! When I saw “Somewhere In Time”, it became one of my favorite movies of all time. I even used part of the soundtrack and part of the “Out Of Africa” soundtrack, spliced together as my wedding music! Some male friends of mine introduced me to the movie because they thought I resembled Jane Seymour. I absolutely shivered when Christopher found Elise MacKenna’s photo in a book as he was researching her and realized that she was the old woman who gave him the pocket watch many years before and said, “Come back to me.” And again when he was looking through the hotel registry and found his name in his handwriting in 1912! The one thing that continues to puzzle me is; where did the pocket watch come from? It is a tangible, solid object that has no beginning! It only has a circular existence. Elise had his watch (the one she gave him 67 years into the future)in her hand when he vanished in front of her in 1912. She gives it to him just before her death and that’s how it came into his possession! But where did the watch actually come into existence?

Fantastic observation and wonderful allure about the circular existence of the watch - I've pondered that question and others about the film and story for decades too. I've liked Jane for decades as well. She was MY one true "movie star" crush from the time I was 18 and saw her in of all things Battlestar Galactica. So the allure of time travel combined with an awesome love story just secured her place in my heart. No woman more beautiful, or classy than her throughout time...

I had heard about Chris and Jane falling in love while filming Somewhere in Time, but I dismissed it as a rumor because I had thought he was with Gae at that time. Now I know better. It must be so hard for Jane to watch that film now, but I'm sure she carries the memory of her brief romance with that beautiful, sweet man in her heart, and will until the day God calls her home.

People who speak of Chris Reeve have always spoken of him as being a warm, kind, even a bit mischievous. It speaks well of him that he spoke directly to her instead of the cowardly "ghosting". Chris also did the honorable act of getting back together with his ex-girlfriend to help in raising their child. Apparently, there was still a spark as they also had a second child a few years later.

Her 4th husband's name was James Keach, not Stacy. Stacy Keach the actor is James' brother. James is also an actor and played the police officer who pulls Clark Griswold in National Lampoon's vacation.

Thank you for the video. You do need to get your FACTS right though. Jane Seymour had two children with David Flynn- Katie and Sean. David had a daughter Jenni from his first marriage so Jane was her stepmom. After marrying James Keach, she had TWIN SONS named John. And Kristopher. She DID NOT HAVE THREE CHILDREN with husband James. He did have a son from his first marriage that became Jane’s stepson.

This was a very good movie and when I bought the movie 15 years ago someone else thought so to because it got stolen from my car 3 hours later when I didn't roll the windows down or lock my car while I walked into a store to get a soda

@@FactsVerse Christopher reeve was in a later with Morgan Freeman street smart , death trap and the remake rear view window and as for the very beautiful Jane Seymour live and let die , Dr. Quin medicine woman , Sinbad and the eye of the tiger , the original Battlestar Galactica and the 08 movie dear prudence however she did do this one movie a long time ago but I'm not sure if it was her that was in it that I've been wanting to see again

It’s a shame they split, they made a nice couple and probably would have gone on to do greater things together ❤ Jane’s Beauty is one of those you can never forget, few women have it, it’s a very special universal uniqueness to it, literally like gold dust and very few women possess it. We could all but hope to find women like these in this modern age, that’s just imo of course . There are some, but unfortunately not enough to go round as most are taken already....🙏🏾

I was a "die-hard fan" of both of them. I saw the movie and I believe that this what should happen in front of the camera when you are making a romantic movie. I have a group of friends that discuss the film at length. I do not mean to sound "stupid" and I am NOT judging, especially, because I always felt they where to wonderful people and actors. When it is said they where romantically involved does that also includes a sexual relationship. Please inform, thank you

I doubt that it was an intimate relationship. She just probably had a crush on Christopher Reeve but in love in love I don't think so. If they would've had an intimate relationship they wouldn't had remained friends.

Why would Jayne Seymour hold a grudge against Christopher Reeve for trying to make things work with the girl who was pregnant with his kid and then remaining with her for the next 10 years to raise the kid together? Sounds like he did the right thing
