This was the title song for Sid Meyer's Civilization 4. "Baba Yetu" is a Swahili translation of the Lord's prayer (as I understand it). Beautiful arrangement.

I think you said it best. Some people have criticized Christopher Tin because he won a grammy for this. Yes, he didn't write the original song but what won him the award and why this song is so good is how he added the orchestra and the arrangement to complement the original song.

When I heard this the first time, I couldn’t imagine hearing a song so epic about humanity.

Soweto Gospel choir is a South African choir. Yes most of the lion King sound tracks were inspired by south African traditional rhythms. Baba yethu is swahili lords prayer.

I would also recommend Civilization 6's title song as well. It's not quite as good as this one in my personal opinion, but it's very good. This is the lords prayer in Swahili set to music. Civ 6's title music is a poem written by Leonardo de Vinci if my memory is correct and it's set to music.

I have seen so many different performances of Baba Yetu, Angel City Chorale got a Golden Buzzer on AGT with this song, Maytree, a Korean a cappella group did a shortened version, which is very interesting, Alex Boye , who also appeared on AGT did Baba Yetu with, I believe a men’s choir from a Utah University, you really can’t go wrong with any version of this incredibly moving and spiritual piece. I disagree, that film or Hollywood deserves this, in fact it does a disservice, to this genre. Games gave us the Tomb raider theme from the blessed Composer/writer, Nathan McCree. Games opened up a road to creatives that thought out of the box, that weren't tied to mainstream thought. Every industry becomes bloated and orthodox. Games gave a new freedom, that sadly has now been abused.

In all humbleness, I think you may have had a better video if you actually reviewed "Baba Yetu (Encore) - Christopher Tin: Live at Llangollen 2017" instead of the video-game official video.
