Friendj's from Chios is a new age tourism music project. Our goal is to create an alternative guided tour of our island Chios located in North Aegean, Greece. Third stop Mavra Volia beach.

Christos Fourkis was born on the 12th of January 1981 in Aigio, Greece. Music has always been a part of his life since childhood.His passion and appreciation for music, lead Christos into the world of Dj’ing introducing new and diverse musical innovations to his crowd. He started Dj’ing in the early period of 1997 performing in local clubs. His DJ appearances have been loved and respected nationally and now internationally by performing on many well-known Internet radio stations.The year of 1998 Christos Fourkis entered the world of producing electronic music. He purchased his first personal computer and analogue hardware to start composing his own electronic music. Professionally, Christos has been producing for 4 years and his first productions received a very good response from very well known and established artists. Throughout the years of practicing and exploration, he has refined his sound engineering as well as his mastering sound techniques.His dream and ambition is to express his feelings and make people understand his music when he is on the Decks.

In the southern part of Chios,about 30 kilometers south of the city of Chios and 5 kms south of Pyrgi village you'll find its seaport,Emporios.There, you'll encounter a true wonder of nature,two beaches: Mavro Gialo and Foki.Two of the most beautiful and world wide known beaches in Greece.
Each beach has its own identity. Although similar,they differ.
Morphologically Mavro Gialo,also known as Mavra Volia (Black Pebbles),is a wider and shorter in length beach.Foki on the other hand is much longer and more narrow,resembling a strip.
To the visitor Mavro Gialo is considered more of a family beach, mainly occupied by parents and children.The sun looks on the beach till late in the evening.
In contrast,Foki is considered a beach for youngsters.It has a special aura that releases a sense of calmness and tranquility.Nature ,at its best, paints a captivating picture!
The tall cliffs in the background cast a natural shade on the beach.You'll not need an umbrella for the sun here!
The most characteristic feature of both beaches,the black shiny pebbles, derive from a long ago eruption of the now inactive volcano,Psaronas.
Both beaches have deep,dark crystal clear waters.

Στο νότια τμήμα της Χίου, περίπου 30 χλμ νοτίως της πόλης και 5 χλμ νοτίως του Πυργίου, βρίσκεται το επίνειο του χωριού, ο Εμπορειός. Εκεί θα συναντήσεις ένα θαύμα της φύσης, τις δύο παραλίες, τον Μαύρο Γιαλό και το Φώκι. Δύο από τις πλέον ομορφότερες και φημισμένες παγκοσμίως παραλίες της Ελλάδας.
Οι δύο παραλίες έχουν δική τους ταυτότητα. Αν και είναι τόσο όμοιες, ταυτόχρονα είναι πολύ διαφορετικές.
Η πρώτη, γνωστή στους κύκλους των τουριστών ως Μαύρα Βόλια, για τους ντόπιους Μαύρος Γιαλός. Διακρίνεται από το Φώκι και σε επίπεδο μορφολογίας αλλά και σε επίπεδο "φιλοσοφίας".
Μορφολογικά, η πρώτη είναι πιο πλατιά και με μικρότερο μήκος. Η δε δεύτερη, πολύ μεγαλύτερη σε μήκος και ταυτόχρονα στενότερη, έχοντας τη μορφή λωρίδας.
Η πρώτη έχει καθιερωθεί στη συνείδηση των επισκεπτών ως "η παραλία της οικογένειας". Θα βρεις ως επί το πλείστον γονείς με παιδιά να κολυμπάνε. Ο ήλιος μένει μέχρι αργά στον Μαύρο Γιαλό.
Αντιθέτως η δεύτερη είναι η παραλία της νεολαίας. Έχει τη δική της αύρα. Εκπέμπει μια ηρεμία, μια γαλήνη. Η φύση έχει βάλει το χέρι της και έχει μεριμνήσει ώστε να δημιουργηθεί μια μαγευτική εικόνα. Τα ψηλά βράχια που την περιβάλλουν δημιουργούν από νωρίς φυσική σκιά και συμπληρώνουν το αλησμόνητο τοπίο. Δεν θα χρειαστείς ούτε ομπρέλα ούτε ξαπλώστρα εκεί.
Αναγνωριστικό στοιχείο τους το κατάμαυρο γυαλιστερό βότσαλο, προϊόν χαμένης στον χρόνο έκρηξης του ανενεργού σήμερα ηφαιστείου Ψάρωνας.
Αμφότερες οι παραλίες έχουν βαθιά, σκούρα και πεντακάθαρα νερά.
