Christy Dignam of Aslan fame, who first played in Revelles, Killarney in 1983 and has played many times since, returned for a flash mob duet with traditional musician Liam O'Connor on July 24th 2018. The event happened on Plunkett Street as hundreds of tourists and locals were treated to a rare mix of trad and rock. Christy and Liam created a memorable evening for all...

Very sad news to hear of the death of Christy Dignam ...'everybody hits you ..everybody knocks you..'thanks to Killarney's Don MacMomagle for capturing these precious moments of music and song from the late Christy Dignam and to Liam O'Connor and his daughter and friends who made this into an ungforgettable impromptu concert in Killarney that is now part of the legacy of the late Christy Dignam...condolences to all his close family friends and fans all over the world for the loss of one of the greats in Irish and Rock music..

I have to say I'd never heard of him til he died,I've been looking him up and what a great talent he was,one of Ireland's best,you can see here he took a bad turn,and yet he carried on singing, Luke kelly and Chris would be on an equal par with their wonderful, unique Irish voices.👏👏👏

Id heard of Aslan about 15 years ago. Was kinda a passing take it or leave thought. But started to find out more about Christy in the last few years. Started listening to Aslan, read up more on his life, what he's been through. I think he's a credit to himself and an amazing singer/songwriter. I wish I'd paid more attention to him earlier.

This is a sad and true song. Everyone should hear this song at least once and it reminds me of all those who suffered and died doing what they believed was a war to end all wars. The words in this song tell everyone why we salute those who fought for freedom. Brilliant song, sung so well and the haunting tone of the accordion works so well. Thanks for posting and thanks to the singer and accordion player. I loved it.

Hi Paul I am an old Irish guy also.. living the west coast of Ireland.. was taken by your comments.. I was a seafarer for most of my life.. a sea captain. I first visited Australia in 1964 Melbourne when I was a teenager and had a great time there it was the time of the swill hour when the pubs were open for two hours only- no passports needed for seafarers in those days.. young people today have no idea. What i wanted to say was you should check out irish hurling.. a great irish sport.. in fact the fastest game in the world played on a green field.. and all by amateurs.. a lot of them like you with your name Brennan coming from that great county Kilkenny.. the home of hurling and the Brennans. Brings tears to my eyes this. Feel so proud to be Irish. We really dont know what we have as an nation in comparison to others. This young girls voice blew me away.
