I do love your supermodel vids. I remember pouring over my mom's Vogue, Vanity Fair etc as a 7yr old and played dress up with my mom's make-up..I modeled too from age 14 onwards, was flown all over with a chaperone. Though I didn't like it and left to join the music biz through connections to a record label / promotions company. I'd love to see a video on Helena Christiansen, I've seen others request her too. Also the original supermodel Gia Carides who died from AIDS. But also one of the pioneers and Angelina Jolie look-alike Renée Toff Simonsen. Just some suggestions. She has a healthy dose of common sense and earned a degree (any degree at the time was an accomplishment). Also serving on a board at an elite American school? That's lightning in a bottle. John Burns hit the freaking jackpot and he has better sense not to ruin that. It's a working fairy tale.

HELLO DIVA KARINE & everyone, I remember & loved this super model. Yes, she was low key, classy but really popular. She was every where on tv in the 90s. I'm a nurse. Just fyi emphysema is like a worse form of asthma & early form of COPD. If u have it u constantly have to be on ur guard to protect ur lungs, & breathing is a challenge. Life's on a clock as lung function diminishes. End stage they are on oxygen 24/7 & have no energy... slow death can be expected... if they live very carefully they can have a decent long life but it's irreversable. People with emphysema have very little energy & health is easily compromised. So... even if she wanted to she wouldn't have the stamena to live the trashy drug fuled scandalous celebrity life. Usually emphysema manifests after decades of smoking so... that was her vice. Good for her for turning to better health. We all make our mistakes. Smart cookie. Focused on her craft, family, & clean image. Now that's wise & I celebrate her diva. Kisses to all of us girls.

Love that you did Christy!!!! I would add that Christy was known for just how symmetrical her face was/is. Aside from her being a good friend/person - I think she gets props from other top models and photographers because of this. Think about it - you’re a top model - so you over analyze your own symmetry - then Christy walks in.. lol. Jaw dropping beauty with perfect facial symmetry - and then she’s nice! I've admire Christy for decades, initially for her beauty but later for her character which exceeds everything that she'd done in fashion. That being said, her eyes often are asymmetrical, one bigger than the other. I'm not critiquing her, imho she was and is a perfect 10.

Salvadoreans are known for not being conceited. Christy Turlington is no exception. I am so lucky and very grateful that my mother is from El Salvador. I got her genes as well. I am a 43 year old male who looks like 29-32 years old. My supervisor thought my mother was 55 years old, she is almost 74 years old.

Excellent video. A world-famous on first name basis flawless beauty with no scandal, an academic brain and a big heart to help other women is a rarity. Her husband, Burns seems really wholesome too. He burst on to the Hollywood scene with his fresh style of movie-making and was suddenly a big deal. He also handled fame well. No falling out of night clubs drunk or scandalous affairs either. Even with Christy dated Christian Slater who was so famous there was scandal, just a nice magazine cover. Another reason why I love her was that according to Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Christy would support her by refusing to work without her and making sure she got paid the same. They became known as the Trinity. How many of us have friends have friends like that? Both friends who want you to succeed on their level and friends with the humility to publicly credit you for helping them.

For me, I remember back in the day thinking she had “stacked” lips and bone structure..same with Cindy Crawford..who has that lip shape? And then the rounded, almost doe eyes..I also think they didn’t really have plastic surgeries back then? Just nature naturing to its fullest! One of my favorite models!!! I remember like it was only yesterday when I was walking toward my favorite photo lab in LA, Isgo Lepejian, to pick up my new prints when we STILL used to use film. I remember Christy was walking out the door and walking right past me. She was wearing light makeup, a little white tee shirt, and jeans. When she looked at me and gave me a big smile, it melted me right down to my shoes, I'll never forget it. What a woman!

Let me just point out that the look a lot of these celebrities try to have with that buccal fat removal, Christy Turlington has naturally. She has naturally sunken cheeks that wasnt even a trend back in her modeling days but it now seems to be. She pre dated that trend and i do believe its her having that look that made her stand out as a supermodel.

She's an enigma! Very grounded and also savvy at the same time. She's not pretentious too. I remember loving her in the 90's, alongside Linda Evangelista. But now I occasionally come across her news and she still looks so authentic - not much plastic surgery if any, and looks healthy!

Well, simply the most beautiful woman in the world. She have now 50 yo old. 0 plastic procedure she didn't even die her hair but she still look... heavenly. I worked in the fashion indistry and my first manager who worked a lot with her in the 90, used to told me that according to all the professionnal in the fashion, she is the most beautiful, sweet, professional and she had that... je ne sais quoi, who set her appart among her peers. A very phenomenal woman. I love her so much.

So happy you did Christy!!! As I grew up it was hard being 1/2 Central American and 1/2 AngloAmerican (I was the first in my family to be bicultural/racial). Knowing that someone like me could be seen as "beautiful" really made a difference.🤗 Btw: I had no idea her Public Health background and interest in world/near-eastern religions...that's a big part of my life. I should check her birth chart 😲

Being a central american is multi cultural as it is. My nephew is 2 (years old) has around 80-85% european dna and 15% indigenous mix. My family is from El Salvador which I had a great grandfather from Spain where I have around half of my family members in El Salvador with hazel eyes like Christy. My nephew is mix with anglo as well. Fun fact- salvadorean culture is a multiculture as well. Also the most biracial country in the americas. Hardly any indigenous people are left in that country.

....it is very quietly said in the industry,....that CHRISTY....brought a very refined ....very subtle diversity to the industry....you can clearly see that she is not Anglo....and that most of the world consists of people of color and she represented that with such class and elan and that combined with her grace and cool demeanor made her a STAR....the great fashion photographer....FRANCESCO SCAVULLO....said about her....SHE LOOKS LIKE A CONTESSA....you should be very proud of her....

The reason you didn't hear about Christy Turlington is because fame wasn't really important for her. Don't feel bad because here in USA, they can't even name a salvadoran celebrity due to being humble people. Fun fact- There was a salvadoran woman who looked very similar like Marylin Monroe and she never had plastic surgery done on her nor dyed her hair. Marylin Monroe had multiple plastic surgeries and was a natural red head.
