I discovered this version on the Sound of Silence on the french radio. It was a program talking about Adolf Eichmann. This part of the program was talking about his capture in Argentina by the Mossad agents. Imagine the situation: Eichman was captured, he was in the hands of Mossad agents and then, this music. "Hello darkness my old friend, I've come to talk with you again" sang with this voice, with this strange and disturbed atmosphere. I have the feeling this is a very accurate use of this song. And it was a good opportunity to discover the work of Chromatics. Thanks to the French radio, and big thanks to the owner of this channel. I have discovered a new band to discover and their voices and instrumentals were put to a good use. Sorry for my English if I still make some mistakes.

Johnny Jewel wrote the lyrics to this song based on his experience in a parallel universe growing up in the church in Texas during the Satanic Panic era of strict child raising. It's very moving to see the director connect with the lyrics & use them perfectly to tell this horrific story of oppression. thank you for listening xo
