This just looks like a blast. Chris was really feeling it. I love that moment at 2:17 where everything has a diminuendo (i don't think i'm using that properly) or drop and then comes right back up. Such a great performance. The Chrono games have such iconic music.

I think you used the term correctly. Subito diminuendo (suddenly soft) may be "more" right, but it's just being pedantic at that point.
