What a fascinating and enlightening series! Thank you so much! Can't wait to see the last part! 😊 But the thing I don't understand is what makes the escapement start once force is applied to the escapement wheel. Is the pallet fork giving energy to the balance wheel?

I thank you! And yes, I know this is not totally explained on this video, but I'll talk about that on a specific video about the escapement, since it's a more complicated subject. But to sum up, you are right. The pallet fork receive force from the escape wheel and gives a kind of a "slap" to the balance wheel. the perfect angle between the face of the teeth of the escape wheel and the face of the pallet is what is responsible to make the rotational movement of the wheel into an impulse to lift the pallet fork, giving impulse to the balance. It's a very precise geometry involved to make the force kind of change directions to go where you want. It's a bit puzzling, but it will be clearer on a specific video about that geometry.
