There are some cars that as soon as they are revealed just become instantly popular. It doesn't matter how lousy they may prove to be - the styling sells them. The Chrysler 300C is one such vehicle, helped by a very low asking price and tried and tested underpinnings. Of course, it helped that the 300C wasn't actually all that bad a steer but that really was secondary. What most people wanted was that 'bad to the bone' shape, with its junior Bentley silhouette and rear view mirror presence that had outside lane dawdlers running for cover up the embankment. Used examples are now beginning to filter onto the market but the 300 is holding its value surprisingly well.

Mine is now 15 years old, in black saloon form like in the video with the 3.0 diesel. I've had strangers stop what they're doing to talk to me about the car on a few occasions and I simply can't think of another 15 year old diesel saloon car which could possibly receive such interest from people.

Im thinking about buying a chrysler 300c, what does it roughly cost to maintenance this car over course of a year? And how reliable is the engine and gearbox

6.1 Hemi SRT8 is incredible, bullet proof, sounds amazing with cutouts. Only drive once per week 18.6 mpg and I'm not shy

My ex father-in-law had one and I got to drive several very long trips with it. I don't necessarily love it on the road as much as I love the looks. To me this is the most beautiful car ever and I'm happy I got to drive one.

I bought one of these 300C's in 2006. $42,000. In America. Lousy transmission. Lasted 77,000. 2,000 out of warranty. So I paid for new transmission. It is a great road car. It's black like the one in the video but it has V8 gas engine. I still have it. It looks a little worn. But it still runs great around town. I would not take on it a road trip. Overall I would give a B. It still look great! It rides well. But I'm not sure whether the Mercedes/Chrysler mixture was worth it. Nothing but standard maintenance since the transmission. I will retire in about a year and so will this car. It's been a friend overall. And I got all 42K out of it. I'm presently sitting at 145,000 miles.

You can get very similar performance as a 6.1 V8 from your Turbo Diesel CRD by having it “re-mapped” which pushes the BHP up to around 290 with a big increase in torque, with the bonus that it improves the MPG as well! A “win win” in my book!

It doesn't improve the MPG trust me :))))))) Just because it says so doesn't mean that it's true 😂...... i mean man... a remap increases the power plus the torque... it's obvious that the MPG will increase too......

@@florinflo9293 it can at part throttle... Less throttle to maintain speed etc. Other than that, I'd be very suspicious of any MPG improvement claims.

They're more special than a 5 series. The 3.0 crd is actually impressive. Especially the station wagon

As someone from the UK where we don't see or buy a lot of American cars, there is something very likeable about the 300C that I can't quite put my finger on, and as it happens I often feel the same way about other Chrysler products. They're cheap but not in that soul sucking way that early Korean cars used to be.
