Thanks for the history tidbit. I remember those beeps in elementary school when we watched movies in class. I also remember when we used the Reel to Reel system and teachers would have to fix the Reel periodically when it ran off the Rollers. Remember also the countdown before the movie started........ 5, 4, 3, 2, 1........... BLASTOFF !!!!!!!!

Yes I Can! And I'm mopar All the way. I worked for the largest Dodge dealer in the tri state region and thier butterscotch Daytona sat out front for 3 winters. It got moved around of course but I remember once just being able to see the wing!!! Easy to find in a blizzard!!!

The Dodge Brothers not only showed Henry Ford how to build a car, they actually built Fords for Henry Ford in the beginning. They built cars for a number of what would eventually be the big auto makers. And...Dodge has ALWAYS been the performance car to beat from before the time the company was formed. Dodge has always meant performance.

Yeah but they were way easier to work on & maintain them . 3 winters ago where I live in rural Wisconsin it was - 20 below & my new Chevrolet Silverado truck wouldn't start when I was going to go to a buddies now to work on a 69 Plymouth road runner we were building & what truck did I have that did start that morning ? My 82 Chevrolet K10 that started that morning that I use mainly to plow my driveway with but once spring summer comes back I take the plow off & take the truck out at times just to drive it because it's something different. I get people who give me the thumbs up in my 82 and nobody gives a rats ass about the new truck lol . The battery that's in the new truck is small and it froze from the cold temperatures and it could hardly turn the engine over a brand new battery & on this truck there's limited room where the battery box is so you can't put a physically larger battery in it . On my 82 Chevrolet K10 that has a nice big battery box so I'm able to put a bigger battery that has much more CCA in it so it can crank the 400 sbc that is in it . The newer cars trucks also have control modules for everything on them that can & do go bad besides the computer and the mass wiring and crappy small wires used to bring power & grounds to everything is junk as well . These wires can look perfect on the outside with no cracked insulation but the wire used inside can break causing wires to loose power or grounds which causes all kinds of problems. If you do a continuity check and find a open wire you have no way knowing where the break in the wire is so most times you end up replacing the whole wire but recently Autell power probe is making a accessory for the power probe 3 that can trace wires that look perfect on the outside but tested to be open with a break in the wire it can trace the wire & pin point where exactly the break in the wire is now so you can cut that section of wire out & solder & shrink tube a new section of wire in its spot. New cars trucks are nice until they fail and they do fail a lot but it's the cost of having them fixed by guys like me that costs a fortune & some times depending on how bad of shape & the mileage is on these newer cars trucks it's not cost effective to even try to fix them anymore because they all now are throw away junk made to fail on purpose usually starting just before the factory warranty is up or at times right after the warranty is up and then you the buyer gets shafted by the manufacturer.

@@peteloomis8456 I've had cars in every decade starting in the 60's they where all junk in the 60's 70's 80's 90's compared to stuff in the last 15 years or so, EFI and GDI injection imporved everything, new cars have better brakes, fuel efficiency, I have driven at least 1.5 million miles, and my last 17 VW's since once I went VW in 1987, I never left, since all GM and Chrysler stuff was abysmal. Each decde VW got better and better. Current 2019 Golf R stick of course is the best one yet..I drive a lot, 316,000 miles of run reliable, never failed to get me where I needed to be, or fail to start in any weather Jetta VR6, majority stick of course., last 10 all stick, even the audis all stick, which is no longer available, only auto. Newer stuff is far superior over anything I eve had in the 1980's i probably had 10 vehicles in teh 1980's all high miles, GM and Ford was junk personified, I switch ed VW, never left, far superior designs, use of space, efficiency, reliability, comfort, handling and performance. 8's GM clogged cat converters, dashbords going out, brakes lasting only 20K miles, water leaks....all just nonsense junk products, and horrible fit and finish, lousy seats, poor handling. VW was far superior, from their cheapest model at the time, to current Golf R stick of course which is not cheap by any means, it's far superior, super quick, handles like on rails, super control and comfort.
