Only a handful of the Engineers who created the dominance of Dodge and Plymouth Musclecars remain. This is a brief, unplanned video from a couple of years back at Carlisle, PA.
If you think you know everything about Mopar- think again. Get the book We Were the Ramchargers by Dave Rockwell and read it carefully. Once you finish that book, then you might truly know something about Mopar Muscle.
The A990 was a 1965, not 66. That was a typo but there is no way to correct once uploaded. It's difficult to proofread one's own work.

Old man here…born & raised in Detroit and so fortunate to be a kid with these (and MANY more) men as my boyhood heroes . I have a big brother who was a Drag Racer and rubbed elbows with many legends of this era of racing. There will never again be a confluence of men,machines and industry to move a generation to achieve their dreams.

Well stated! I've heard some wonderful stories from Detroit guys in their youth, seeing the Ramchargers "road-testing" cars on the streets in their neighborhoods or hanging around the shop in the early evenings. Often parked outside with the hood up and talking with them, but if an "adult" would walk up, hood went down and the car would drive off. Those guys were damn special- and have given us all a legacy to enjoy. Get the book if you don't already have it- you will enjoy the time travel and memories that come out of Dave Rockwell's words and photographs

You & Pam were some lucky girls back in the day. Not only did you have the world's "coolest" babysitters, but also played with Barbies (no seatbelts) in back of the only 426 HEMI powered 1965 Dodge Coronet station-wagon on Woodward Avenue.

These guys made my teenage years in the late 60's &70's some of my most memorable. My 62' Dart race car, 69' Super Bee, 69GTX and 70' Challenger were a tribute to these fellas and the designers at Chrysler. Thank god for bringing them together to do their thing. We'll never see another time in the American automotive industry where the stars aligned like they did during their time at Chrysler.

I see you have a '65. Great choice! The 1965 cars were probably their favorite. The same group (John, Dave, Mike and Al) will be at Carlisle next week. Stop by and say hello! Shake hands and tell them Thank You. Seems few people fully grasp just how much these men did for our hobby and the sport of drag racing.

@@US-191 yes sir! I watch all of the history I can with these amazing cars unfortunately I’m in Denver Colorado. I would love nothing more than to come talk to you guys, appreciate the reply! I will be teaching my grandkids and showing them all of these videos on how important it is that we learn our car and engineering history.
