Definitely did not, watch again. Play it back and pause the second the ball touches the mitt, his foot was still on. Understandable most people can’t pick up on the small details. Sound of the mitt has nothing to do with it as when it comes down to milliseconds it’s delayed on video. Video don’t lie. Great play by catcher. I’m still trying to understand the point of it. Pitcher caught a liner. So batter is out. Even with bases loaded there is no longer a force at home. They got a double play because the runner on first didn’t tag up. But there is no out at home.

Bases loaded. Pitcher throws the ball and the batter hits the ball. The comes off the bat at a downward angle hits the ground and bounced up and the pitcher catches the ball. No one is out yet. the pitcher throws the ball to the catcher for the force out at home plate so no runs score. Which i dont know if the cather had his foot on the plate when he caught the ball for the force out. Then the catcher throws the ball to first base to get the batter out. 1 out and 1 RBI if the cather didnt have foot on homeplate when he caught the ball or douple play if his foot was on the plate.

Well since the catcher cought the ball after he stepped off the plate, its safe at home. They just got the one out at first. Batter bounced ball, they missed the force at home due to the carcher stepping off before getting the ball then they get the throw out at first.

Time for a visit to the eye doctor. The ball hits the ground in front of the plate as soon as the batter hits it. He fielded the ball and threw home for the force out (bases were loaded) but technically the catcher wasn’t close enough to the plate so shouldn’t have been called out. They then threw to first base for the second out.. though I’d argue the one at home wasn’t out.

The play is not at home. This is a great heads up play by the catcher. He noticed the first base runner failed to tag up before advancing to second. The outs were the line drive by the batter and the out at first on the base runner.

There's no forced out at home, so it doesnt matter if the catcher stepped off early. Its a double play. Batter and first base runner are out. Unless it was the third out, vatcher should have kept the ball and protected the plate for a tag out. Probably only would have beem a single out play, but would have kept a third base runner from scoring.
