Met Chuck Mangione shortly after this album came out when he was doing a record signing event at a local store here in Rochester, NY, his home town. He had brought his Friends & Love concert to my college, SUNY Geneseo about a month before and it had blown me away. I told him so and he told me that they were trying to bring the Together concert there also. He then signed my album cover, "Tom -- thanks for appreciating our music " The Together concert at Geneseo never materialized, but both this and the Friends & Love album, which I had bought shortly after the concert, are two of the most valued items in my record collection.

The long dreamy piece (Legacy?) that follows the intro has haunted me for years and no Shazam knows it! So happy to find this! Great great music! The vocals are wonderful too.

BRAVO, Rob!!!! I never thought I would hear this again. Now if you can create an LP digital copy of the complete FRIENDS & LOVE concert including the encore, a lot of Mangione fans would be happy. Mercury Records has been sitting on these forever and they need to see the light of day.

Hey Rob you made my night. I have this on vinyl but haven't heard it in well over a decade. A young Steve Gadd on drums on this recording. I saw the PBS video of this concert on TV years ago and it was my first sighting of the legendary Steve Gadd. Great memories thanks.

How this double album was never released as a CD has always been a mystery to me. Solid hour and a half of entertainment, Steve Gadd's drumming on 'Hill Where The Lord Hides' makes it the best version by far. That ending!

The story I heard was that after the vinyl release but before the advent of CDs, all of the master tapes for this brilliant album were destroyed in a fire. The only existing copies of this music are those that survived as phonograph records.
