Just looked up the ZL1's gearing, and the top of 4th gear is about a 14 by Matt's method of measuring speed.

This is a badass car, but I'm really confused with the logic of "I hate just cars"... and then to top it off he drives an F-150. There's nothing wrong with an F-150, it has a purpose and does it well, but the same goes for the RAV4 he was bashing. We need regular cars to make the world work. Everyone can't drive sports cars every day, sometimes we need to fit more people, more luggage, tow stuff, use regular gas instead of premium, get good MPG, etc. Looking down on people who drive "normal" cars just makes you sound like you're up on a high horse. For all you know the person in the RAV4 is a car enthusiast and has a collection of cool cars, but right now he's on a family trip with his wife and kids. Kinda pointless rant but I think people will get what I mean.

I'm glad you keep getting to drive ZL1s Matt. It's nice to have a benchmark for a comfortable and powerful sports car.

Matt is bang on with the feel of these cars..I had a 2010 SS for half a summer was thinking of trading up to a corvette and drove a 2015 ZL1..feels like a totally different animal it rides amazing, is fuck off fast, looks great. One of the best “bang for your buck” cars right now I have no regrets buying mine.

The comments on the Rav4 irked me a little. Matt, there's nothing wrong with a car being designed for a purpose. The Rav4, especially the 2006-2012 model, with the V6 engine, is excellent at what it does. It's an SUV with a decent off-road capability and bulletproof reliability. I don't see why you have problems with cars that are "just cars". The Prius is the same way. Knock the Prius all you want, but it's a damn good car at what it was designed to do. I hate the mentality that if it doesn't have 500 horsepower, isn't rear wheel drive, and is an automatic makes it boring or bad. The Rav4 is designed for a specific purpose, and it does it well. That's kind of the point of different styles of cars. I'm a little shocked that you don't appreciate that.

I love the ZL1's was looking at picking one up before I got my CTS-V wagon. 450 at the wheels stock seems a bit low for those cars with a manual. CTS-V's with a manual stock dyno in the 470+ range. The LSA is a beast of a motor.

I agree about not caring about blind spots because it is cool looking. I drive my 2010 SS 365 days a year, took a month to get use to the blind spots. My 2002 Camaro and 86' Trans Am with t-tops were like driving a fishbowl compared to this car, but they aren't nearly as good.
