@@donsolosit's not the system, it's the personnel. The Warriors dominated because the system was tailored for what your players do best. If a dude gets his shots off the dribble and is ball dominant, he will look bad if try to make him a spot up shooter or give him inconsistent touches. He can't get into rhythm. You also need their games to compliment one another and they all have clearly defined roles. That allows the lesser players to play without overthinking. They perform better, look like better players, which allows your best players to play one on one which allows them to dominate.

Jamal Murray is the most overrated player in this league - 37.5 FG% in the 2024 playoffs is disastrously bad! And yet Mike Malone continues to rely on this useless player. These American coaches are too soft. In Europe, if a star player isn't performing, he gets benched. Mike Malone can't make adjustments. I feel the Nuggets are getting swept. And you certainly can't win a championship with Murray as your #2 option.

Having played in Europe I had a smile on my face to see an NBA game with such intense defensive efforts both on and off the ball. Wolves clearly understood Jamal’s strengths and they took that away- elbow and baseline jump shots are his to go sets and that on-ball pressure made it extremely difficult for him to get those spots constantly and when he did there was length at the elbows waiting for him. He has never dealt with that sort of pressure before hence losing his calm. MPJ isn’t a dribble and pull up player so with Jamal being pressured as he was, that made it difficult for him to get in rhythm, he is way too upright when dribbling the ball so making it easy for smaller active guards to strip it. Between games 1 and 2 there has only been one lob pass from Nikola to Gordon and reason being the size Wolves possess and this 1 lob actually was in this game because Slowmo is much smaller than Rudy! It’s a genius move to have KAT and Naz on Nikola and Rudy on Gordon. So Gordon will not be found on those dunker spots as Rudy manages to intercept those lobs as seen in game 1 meaning Gordon will have to beat the wolves on the perimeter where he isn’t as strong because he can’t create off the dribble fluently. The physicality on Nikola will just overwhelm and frustrate him and that there is the game plan. Going forward I think Nuggets should consider playing DJ at the 5 and have him blitz any pick n roll action with that size and length and he should be the primary defender on Rudy and should do exactly what Rudy is doing for the Wolves. And Ya ANT!!

Getting KAT to play defense with intensity was worth every draft pick they sent to Utah even if Rudy never played another game. This team is at another level defensively and they have enough length to really bother everyone outside of maybe OKC.
