Dude is a legend actor in general. Obviously amazing as chucky, but has also done load of stuff outside of horror, got his start in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. Literally first movie he was even in, and he got a oscar nomination for his performance. Incredibly underrated.

It makes sense Chucky can be easily brainwashed like that. For a start, he never was mentally stable, even for a psychopath serial killer, then he die and came back as a doll multiple times, then he divided his soul into multiple pieces.
