Chucky had lost his ability to switch bodies with other people. Remember, Damballa abandoned him, so he's doomed to die as that power was the only thing keeping him alive and always coming back. He already tried gaining back Damballa's power by sacrificing over a dozen people in the White House, but the plan backfired. You're right that there may be some sort of solution, but as far as we know right now, Chucky is running out of time. What he was looking at were the codes he stole after killing the President, and he plans to blow up the whole world. And if you ask me, that plan sounds similar to his first diabolical plan from season 1. You know, creating an entire doll army to attack the world. But since Andy botched that plan, and his Colonel clone stupidly disposed of the rest of the clones that survived, Chucky is on his own. Sure he's got Henry by his side, but what that poor kid doesn't know is that associating with Chucky is straight up suicide. Henry feels lost without Joseph, and Chucky of course is using that to his advantage. That's basically what he always did, find a person's weak spot, whether it's anxiety, anger, a disability, low self esteem, and mourning and grieving over a lost loved one. Clearly, this is why Chucky is the King of manipulation. He takes his time to examine someone for their weaknesses and secrets, and will use those against them.
