Not really obscure in Japan. It was the first Tokusatsu show with a superhero piloting a giant robot and its success lead to the relaunch of the Super Sentai series, which implemented the giant robot concept first appeared in Spider-Man. The 16th season of Super Sentai was used in America to create the first season of Power Rangers.

@@MaxP_88ratings of it and Daimos dropped a lot in 1978 that's why both shows were cut short and got rushed endings. Spiderman was replaced by Super Robot anime Daltanious on TV Tokyo while Daimos was replaced by Battle Fever J in 1979.

no the japanese spiderman series was made in 1978, and the spiderman cartoon(where the theme that the newer movies used originated from) was released in 1967

6:43 I noticed this seems to be just the "sad theme" but it gets me everytime, I came for silly spiderman but it gets so sad. Unfourtunately the sad parts don't have enough time to feel as impactful since the pacing is a little rushed to fit for a TV show. Honestly, I'm unironically loving the show, but the blatant, reusing clips and dated visuals can be a little distracting. I find myself reaaaaally having to suspend my disbelief for the show. Maybe that's because I'm not a kid anymore..Still, a lot of the music makes up for it though, for the short time it plays, it hits hard, like "damn, you really got me crying over a damn spider we just met.." I partly wish they could remake the show but with better pacing but still over the top practical effects. I love seeing Spider-man running around all silly while there's all these explosions going off thinking "damn, those are REAL explosions, they couldn't fake those with such a small budget back then, lmaoo"
