DGP Sir should installed CCTV Cameras in every entry&exit points bordering every Nagaland. Very big questions to those maining Khuzama Check gate a Truck fully loaded Areca Nuts couldn't intercept there must be some Police Officers involved too need to thoroughly investigate this matter.

I think illegal activities specially in Dimapur is visible to all the citizens. However,nobody including me has the power and guts to voice out the corruption taking place in the city. Isn't liquor and sf if not more, are equally harmful for the society? Govt agencies (police/ excise)failed in this. NGOs and Underground factions had failed too. If the import or transportation of Burmese areca nuts is illegal, how do the trucks carrying areca nuts manage to pass through all the tight Army checkpoints and police patrol parties starting from Choro/Thana/Wangli/Mangli/Moreh down to Imphal, Mao-Khuzama, Phesama, Kohima, Chumukedima, and finally Dimapur? I speak from my own experience and caught one non local trader, he was renting a storage space on my property, he tipped off the cops and bought back the confesticated contraband (areaca nut about 80 bags ) , honestly this is useless ,cops do it to get money out of it .

Areca nut is legal if we grow inside one's country and sell within the country but it (or any substance) becomes illegal if import/export is done without proper tax and procedure. Since these areca nut are coming from different country (Myanmar) without proper documentation with Indian government thus it becomes illegal. If they do proper documentation/tax with Indian government then it will be treated as legal. So also with any substance even coffee or rice.
