Pre-Release Single #2 [PLAY]
‘PLAY’ continues the voice of the deep night expressed by the previous single ‘Stay Tonight’, it contains the story of a more beautiful hot afternoon than the night which blurred the boundary between day and night. After a secret and private moment, the lyrics were filled with bold and striking words like the angle of the midsummer sun.
Starting with Remedy, CHANGMO's rap which presented a new narrative combining the title of CHUNG HA's singles was perfectly harmonized to complete a picture as if drawing a pupil.
This song is a Latin pop with various elements of reggaeton arranged in each section. The guitar sound at the verse is scattered off the beat with an iconic reggae rhythm, warms the space with an acoustic guitar sound and a synthesizer sound that unfolds instantly from the pre-chorus, then a brass section and dembow rhythm with the climax chorus light a heart to everyone with a feast of rhythm.
‘PLAY’는 이전 싱글 ‘Stay Tonight’이 표현했던 깊은 밤의 목소리에 이어, 낮과 밤의 경계가 흐릿해져 밤보다 더 아름답고 뜨거운 오후의 이야기를 담고 있다. 은밀하고 비밀스러웠던 순간을 지나 한여름 태양의 고도처럼 강렬하고 과감한 단어들로 가사를 채웠다.
Remedy로 시작해 청하의 대표 곡의 제목을 이어 새로운 내러티브를 선사한 창모의 랩은 마지막으로 눈동자를 그리듯 완벽하게 어우러져 하나의 그림을 완성하였다.
이번 곡은 레게톤의 다양한 요소를 섹션마다 배치한 라틴 팝이다. 오프 비트에 뿌려지는 기타 사운드로 레게 특유의 리듬으로 벌스를 환기하고, 프리 코러스부터 고조되는 순간 펼쳐지는 어쿠스틱 기타 사운드와 신디사이저 사운드로 공간을 데워, 절정으로 치닫는 코러스부터 시작되는 브라스 섹션, 뎀보우 리듬의 향연으로 모두에 마음에 뜨거운 불을 붙인다.

This remains one of the greatest kpop music videos ever released. The song, the choreo, the charisma, the cinematography, all nearly unparalleled. Chungha was one of the greatest artists the industry ever saw, and I'm not sure we appreciated her enough while we had her.

@@hdiiehz Yes! She and her dancers are always immaculately styled. Definitely helps that Chungha is incredibly beautiful, and a style chameleon. She can carry off pretty much any look (sweet or sexy), and hair colour (equally stunning with blonde, brunette or black hair). That must make the Stylist's job so much easier. And the Hair and Make-Up Artist's too.

I rarely leave comments on K-pop videos, but I must say this: this girl HAS something, this girl IS something. To be a soloist is never an easy task. She must take the stage and rule it, and this girl carries it out with perfection, with every single track of her. A born-natural queen, a born-to-be soloist. I just love how she reigns the whole performance, how she takes control of the individual movements. Even when she carries out some moves that could have been seemingly provocative, there is no single clue of being cheap or obscene, because she is the one that is taking control. She owns it. She's hot, but she's not seducing anyone, because she's not selling anything. She's just enjoying her work, doing her job, exploding her talents, with confidence and competence. When she dances, I feel the essence of happiness within her. The happiness that we can have when we're fulfilled, doing what we're supposed to do, doing what we're made for. What a true, true professional she is.

This song is perfect and the music video's so cool. Chung Ha's voice is insane and the dance coreography's incredible. The acting is perfect and the energy's amazing. The outfits are stunning she look gorgerous and absoulutly killed it with the dance coreography. Love the positive vibe in Chung Ha's songs and she's just very talented love this girl so much. Knowing that she almost quit because he felt too old to debut in the industry friggin hurts I'm so glad her company had faith in her and had her take part in Produce she didn't expect anything, didn't push herself too hard she just performed, had fun, and made friends she was herself and EVERYONE fell in love with her I'm so so so glad Chungha continued to make music because she is such a gem in the industry and really a gift to all of us

MNH is one of the few exemplary agencies around these days. Obviously they are putting everything they can into boosting Chung Ha, and are being richly rewarded for it. They don't neglect BVNDIT either, and have done right by those girls as well. If I were an aspiring idol, I'd be looking at companies like MNH or Happyface - companies that aren't as big but are treating their artists really, REALLY well.
