This is like Vangelis´ score for Blade Runner, the dystopian feeling, but without the synthesizers. Hits right in that spot for me, really great stuff.

I love this music, the film and wong kar wai in general so much. By the way, more than vangelis this theme and the other called "rain tears.." they both remind me of "the free side" of Nikita by eric serra. What do u think?

Just watched Chungking Express yesterday night, fell alseep with this song. What a movie. The visuals, the music, the atmosphere. Feels like listening to Vangelis, as if Blade Runner was set in Hong Kong

I agree, I can watch this Film oder and oder again. For me its not only the story. After a while you watch it for the artistic style. It's definately peerless.

this music reminds me of a trip to Japan years ago when I was descending to Narita International Airport at night to see my fiance; I was hungry and missing her. What a time it was. I asked her to marry me at the Grand Hotel in Yokahama. I would have liked this music playing afterwards when I was alone with her on the balcony at the hotel room looking out at the bright twinkling city.
