A chunky piece of gold was found today while working a gravel bar. Tye, Jeff and Mike took the day off of work, to mine.

Somewhere in the state of Iowa,it was a nice little picker, but it’s not the biggest piece of gold I’ve ever seen come out of Iowa.

There’s plenty of places that you have access to that your not thinking of. Go find yourself a park in town that has a creek. Get on Google Earth and look at parks in town. Zoom down and look for creeks. Look for rocks on the inside bends. Go check those places out.

The luma fusion was giving me a hard time after I downloaded all my video that I wanted to use off my camera. I went into the app on my phone and deleted 352 gig of videos and remarkably my phone started working better. I took me a long time to get That video made and we should’ve went to dinner

I have 3 I bought for myself and wife and Grandson they been hanging on the wall for awhile ace250 and a 350 and I use the ATmax but been thinking of buying another possably the GP6000 as I looking into booking a trip to Australia next year

That would be everybody dream, I would need some kind of guide to take me out to the outback to find gold somebody I’ve watched on KZfaq or something like that somebody reputable.

So is the area your in accessible only because of the 5 year drought? And with wet material wouldn’t a tromel too was those large stones for any stuck fine gold ? But congratulations that’s the biggest Iowa picker I’ve every seen ! 😊 I wish gold was more plentiful in Iowa . But we drive to Nevada and spend a couple weeks on our claim ! If the wife and I are lucky enough we will pay for the gas hotel and grub and still have some too add too our pile that someday we will have rings for us and the kids ❤.

I can get to this gravel bar when the water is at 5 feet. The current level is around two.. This location is a hike in. Maybe if I was in my 20s or 30s I would take more gear. But since I’m in my 50s and everything hurts, I’m looking to reduce the weight of the gear that I haul in so a Trommel would not be the best option. You just have to watch how hard you shovel into the high banker. And if I’m losing a lot of gold on the rocks coming out the backside I just viewed it as catch and release, I’ll be back for it later. I agree with you in the size of the gold in Iowa. You just have to study the soil types and be real lucky.
