Made me think of a former priest friend of mine who used Tom Petty’s “The Waiting” during Advent. Really thoughtful approach to ‘church music.’

Fantastic song written by John Prine and many of his songs are very appropriate for church. Hello in There and Bruised Orange along with many more. Thanks for sharing this wonderful cover.

This song has such a strong hold on me. I like the David Letterman live version more than studio one. Yours is exquisite; guitar arrangements are perfect match to the vocals. His & hers vocals simultaneously was very moving.

Great job. But more than that, you sang a song, in church, that transcends religion and hits right in the heart - or soul. My father was a United Church minister in Canada and often cited folk music -- Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan -- in his sermons. Speed of the |Sound of Loneliness is deep and emotional without anyone really understanding why.
