This relic and icon veneration is finally starting to make sense. The fact that it remains to this day here in the middle of amish country in a greek church is just astounding to me. Just shows the human heart is just prone to idolatry.

I question the last half of this talk as veneration of the angels and saints was occurring before this time. We see in the catacombs images and symbols of saints and icons. There was no paganism and and secularization occurring in the Church to satisfy pagan converts. The leading beliefs of paganism ran contrary to the Gospel. The early Christian had no interest in adopting by the way they wrote about them. This occurred in such a way that the pagans considered Christians as athiest because they would not bow down to the pagan gods. The Church fathers condemned these practices. Church and state never merged together and the office of bishop remained separate from the civil authorities. It was the Church that decided on the Lord's Day as Sunday, just as they did in the new testament. Your comments on the sacraments is not worth the discussion especially Communion. Your manipulation of early Church practice and beliefs are contemptuous: they are without merit.

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord Not really. Accurate reporting of history is all that is required. He presented a myth.
