There's a city called "Aachen" in Germany. Aachen was the capital of Charlemagne's empire, The Father of Europe, "Patricius Romanorum" the protector of Rome and the Christian Church, crowned the first Holy Roman Emperor by Pope Leo III in 800 AD. Aachen, and it's French name "Aix la Chappelle" both mean, essentially, "the chapel water" or "chapel on the water." Sorry for the rant, it's just "Pon de river to church" feels like it echoes that.

most of the Patois language is African in origin, primarily from Twi (a dialect of Akan). Many of the loanwords are derived from English, but a lot are also borrowed from Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Arawak and African languages, as well as Scottish and Irish dialects. majority of the white Jamaicans are of Irish or Scottish descent. both are very similar.
