When people are raised with the idea that they are superior because they are born in a certain religion then there's no scope for improvement or self reflection

Personally growing up in an Islamic country, we minorities walked on eggshells every single day. The religion may preach on tolerance but that is what they clearly lack. Muslims want justice, rights, and equality in every non-Muslim nation but are not willing to give minorites any of these rights in Muslim-majority states. Either they don't reflect their religion or their religion does not reflect them, a question they need to answer.

Abbas hats off to you, I see the pain in your words. Being a Christian n living in India I am grateful to have been born here. Prejudices are there all over the world , but in India I can truly say that it is one of the most tolerant countries in the world. Modi has been made to look like Satan, but the truth is different on the ground level. He has protected the weak n he is true to his word. Hope Pakistan can move forward from this level of hatred and be true to its origins of being a secular state , what it was to be in the first place.

I do believe that it is not just the Fikr, but these punishments are abundantly clear in Hadith and Sunnat, and in the opinions of the majority of scholars. The brief examples in the Quran cannot be simply taken as contextual when it is giving direct instructions, and it is supposed to be instructions for all mankind until Qiamah. Even the murder of these murtideen in the Rida wars seems cruel and unjustified to me. if they didn't truly believe in this religion and converted under threat of violence, why was their declaration that they want to live by their convictions punishable by death? The problem is that you, and Ghamidi Sahib are far better and kinder human beings than the laws espoused in the religion of our birth. It is the bitter truth that is hard to accept! The example you gave of Osama, are you not bothered that the Prophet was only concerned if that man was actually a muslim? Otherwise, his murder was okay? This zulm 1400 years ago is still bothersome to me!

I've heard about persons who stood for truth without caring for their life. It's not easy at all to state truth when there is 100% threat of death. 2-3 days before I was hearing Qamar Cheema he said that truth is to be said only to the extent you are safe . (Lev, 24.16) However, you or any Muslim should not abandon his or her religion, but should correct, cleanse and reform it from within.

This is my personal opinion. Religious study is very personal. It should be studied once child crosses 18. When you teach kid during early childhood he has no clue what is right or what is wrong. Which results in the people grow up with distorted reality. They think their religion is superior or their people is superior. Even I have noticed most of terrorists or people who create nuance in society have Islam background.
