Acts 10:1-48; 11:1-18

Those who never had a likelihood of hearing his gospel do they get a second chance at salvation? Or are they lost into the eternal flames of hell? Because there was a time where no one heard of Jesus nor of this gospel that He had preached.

@@bigcountry9563 That's a great question! God wants everyone to have a chance at salvation and because he is loving and just everyone will have that chance. People who did not know about Jesus Christ in this life or who rejected His commandments will have the opportunity to hear His gospel taught while living in the spirit world. As the Bible teaches, “For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit” (1 Peter 4:6). It should be noted that this is extraordinary, but adds to how much more grace draws people near.. A Roman Centurion was usually a harsh and skilled officer that had seen much combat. Not to mention, to be a Centurion in Judea was like being a German officer in Nazi-occupied Europe during WWII.

The first shall be last and the last shall be first, the scriptures say. The Gospel was first preached unto the Jews, and the Gentiles received it from them. Then in the last, the Gospel is first preached to the Gentiles, and the Jews will receive it from them.

God loves all of His children and has a plan of happiness for them. In ancient times only the children of Israel received the fulness of the gospel. With this revelation to His servant Peter, God opened the way for all of His children to receive its fulness. We are now commanded to "teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." The gospel of Jesus Christ has now reached all the world.

I think the reason that KJV is used so that we get it purely from the source. Understanding should not be a problem since the Holy Ghost would testify in our hearts that this is truth, and that it comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It will be given freely to those who sincerely seek it. That is much more than we would expect from these words and we are promised even more if we follow Christ because the way that He have prepared will lead us to eternal life. Hope this helps.

George Rene Biol I can understand you saying your opinion from a European centric point of view which, unfortunately, the gospel was spread for centuries. The KJV was printed in 1611 in the English of that time is translated from the Greek and Hebrew. We need to go back to origins, that’s where we go: the writings of the early church. The early English of the KJV has nothing to do with interpreting the early writings. In fact, I feel it alienates so many from the wonderful news of the gospel.

Sassy G, if the old language is distracting you, by all means choose a translation that you can enjoy. KJV takes a special place to some that are used to the language, because so much effort was put into making it as accurate as possible at the time it was made. Exactly what you also wish for. There are more good translations with less antique wording, that are also accurate. Small differences will not harm your understanding of the very strong truth that comes from the word of God. While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. Acts:10:44 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts:10:45 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Acts:10:46 What happened? It was going so well. And then they neglected to show the whole truth of the matter. Don't be afraid of the Holy Ghost children. It is not foolishness as some would have you believe. You can receive the free gift of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire as well. You can get there if you want just need to follow the lord and do what they did to grow to that level. You have to be willing to commit and create a very strong relationship with the Lord which is key.

It can be :) 3rd Nephi in the Book of Mormon shows the Lord appear to all, and teach massive groups after his Resurrection in the Americas and even though these people weren't prophets and apostles they all were able to gain such testimonies.

I love this video. I think of the times, and of how it was unconventional for a Roman, raised with Pagan doctrine to digress from those teachings in search of truth and light. I think of the beautiful moments Peter got to be a part of those defining moments, and experience the workings of the spirit in the lives of others, as demonstrated in this beautiful account.
