It seems like you always set up these dream scenarios in your head about life (getting married/wedding, marriage, birth, babies, KZfaq) and always expect everything to be perfect. That is why you’re always disappointed. Motherhood and marriage is hard work and comes with A LOT of ups and downs. Kids are wonderful but they are exhausting! The baby years will take a toll on you and test your marriage and patience. That is why there needs to be a strong foundation to begin with.Don’t even get me started on the teenage years. You need to let go of any unrealistic expectations and just embrace what is or you will literally drive yourself mad and always be unhappy.

Don't let any negativity get to you, especially after having a baby, your emotions are still on a high. Whether you breastfeed, pump, or bottle feed YOUR baby, as long as your little man is fed, healthy and growing, you're doing what you feel is best for y'all. Being a mom, especially as a first timer, is SO overwhelming and difficult at first, but when you get into your-his groove it gets so much easier. Take care of you too. Your health, mentally and physically. Your little man is so precious. I'm a mom of 3 boys and I finally got my girl in September. You're doing great Meg. ♡

What about the way Ant taps Kaden on the back for him to burp? I feel the tapping is pretty strong, it should be done in the gentlest way possible. He does it repeatedly and going hard, I can't even look at the videos with him doing that. Kaden was only a few days old. Imagine someone tapping you like that, you would hurt,not to mention a baby.

April Burton I’m so sorry for your tough labor and delivery! Mine was rough too, but that doesn’t take away my knowledge of what birth CAN be. Meg is so uneducated and ignorant to some things (I don’t mean that in an insulting way, it’s just the truth) and she’s very closed off to learning. I tried to tell her things about postpartum the entire time she was pregnant and it’s hard when someone ignores what SO MANY people are saying. I’m worried she has PPD, too. And I can’t help but say that I’ve seen the head tossing video of them trying to keep baby boy awake before he was even 1 week old and I’m just disgusted... it’s so hard to watch someone mistreat a newborn in such a way... and I mean so much love toward Meg, I just wish she would listen to the fleet of amazing mothers that follow her...

I feel you on the after labor. I had a scheduled c section due to the size of my daughter. But it being my first baby I had no idea how recovery was. Being hooked up to IV's, leg cuffs to prevent blood clots, etc. Having a nurse check on me every 2 hours. And the night before my scheduled c section I went into labor so either way my daughter was meant to be born that day. Then the next two weeks were SO painful. I had a hard time caring for my daughter. I'm so grateful for my husband and my moms help. Then my daughter struggled with latching. But now she's almost 7 months and its crazy how hard and painful it was but I would do it over and over again to have my precious little one ❤️ I almost wish I could relive it all because I feel like time flies by. Also in the middle of the night there was an earthquake. So I'm stuck in bed can't get up and a earthquake happens. Lol. My anxiety was so instense after that.

That’s not normal. Not at all. That’s neglect on the part of the hospital. Poor care, fear mongering. Natural childbirth is spectacular and empowering. I’m sorry your births were traumatic. Read “Ina May’s guide to childbirth” and become educated on what your body is meant for. Hospitals and western maternal medicine is lying to you.

@@meaniemaelily hospitals are also a life saving place, I'm glad I didn't opt for a birth outside the hospital because otherwise I'd be dead. For those of us who required an emergency cesarean, we would have been the women in the past who died during labor.
@meaniemaelily
@meaniemaelily 4 жыл бұрын
Sarah Welch The thing is that while you may have needed that cesarean anyway (although the chances are low unless you were high risk or predisposed to needing one) the intervention, induction, and full on meddling in childbirth that hospitals participate in, such as breaking your water, induction of any kind, helping to “speed up labor”, - that crap CAUSES cesareans. It’s not about natural birth for the mother, it’s all about doing things on THEIR time for THEIR convenience. Hospitals are a business, and they’re in the business of people being ill or having diseases. Pregnancy isn’t an illness or a disease. Of course if you’re presenting preeclampsia, severe gestational diabetes, or another serious high risk issue, a hospital is the better place, but my point still stands that hospitals fear monger, take control away from the laboring mother, and prevent labor from being the empowering, powerful, fearless thing that it is. They don’t encourage you to stay natural in labor, the hawk and judge you for not wanting pitocin or an epidural. Birth has been happening for thousands of years, and only when they took the midwife away from handling pregnant women did the maternal mortality rate rise. Do your homework, girl. I’m not wrong here..
@sarahwelch4088
@sarahwelch4088 4 жыл бұрын
@@meaniemaelily it's not about doing homework. Ask your grandma, she was probably put to sleep to give birth to your mother and that was only a few decades ago. My grandma had 4 children and she won't even speak about the horrendous things she went through. Hospitals get enough "business", they're not in it for the money. Doctors have these things calls licenses that can be taken away so you better be sure they're doing all they can to keep women alive during labor. I'm going to trust someone who has years and years of education and hands-on experience in a medical field over someone who wants to only promote natural birthing centers. Let me guess, you're one of those non vaccinating mothers? 😫🤣 hospitals are aware of the high rates of csections and are attempting to reduce those numbers but when it's inevitable, intervention is key in saving lives. I can agree with you on the fact that they're quick to make decisions to induce because I was for just slight high blood pressure, but it comes down to weighing options in the end. Either go home and end up with preeclampsia or induce. I spoke with several doctors and called my mother in law, who birthed 7 children, and all advised inducing EVEN with the chance of a cesarean. My baby's head was so damn big is the only reason I couldn't push her out. Otherwise my induction wouldn't be a statistic of resulting in caesarean. It really just depends on every individual's case. No 2 labors are the same. So it's hard to compare. Just don't suggest women should opt for avoiding hospitals because THAT is fear mongering.

I'm not sure if that helps future mama's but it doesn't hurt to ask. You look amazing and I didn't see any stretch marks. You're so blessed. Take care.

I totally get your frustration but at least you had your baby in the room with you. My daughter was in the NICU and I literally got to hold her for a minute and a half before they took her away from me after she was born and I didn't see her again for several hours when I could walk again.. I had to get up and walk to the NICU every 2 hours day and night to feed her.. be thankful momma!!

Same here too, for ten days. It was such a tough thing to leave the hospital without my newborn when other parents were carrying theirs to their car to go home, and having to pump like a crazy person so I could leave some part of me at the hospital while I would be away. I've been on Zoloft for 4 years to control my severe manic depression & anxiety, and to be completely safe my doctor tapered me down until I was completely off of it during my first trimester for baby's safety. But then as soon as I was in my second trimester, we worked our way back up to my dosage & it's been incredible. You don't realize how badly you need the medicine until you can't have it! I'm due here in a few weeks & baby has progressed perfectly! Everybody talks about postpartum depression/anxiety but I feel like nobody talks about pre-existing depression/anxiety.

Meg I felt your emotions in this video talking about your after birth. I hemorrhaged after giving birth and the doctors and nurses had a hard time stopping my bleeding it was so bad literally I felt myself slipping away. But all I could think about even though I was in pain and scared I wanted my baby in my arms, I remember just staring at my daughter she was in her dads arms. And then after I was OK my daughter was jaundice and had to be under the lights, I couldn’t even have her in my room under the lights because she would scream and cry for me and it was so heartbreaking. Even though my daughter is five years old watching this brought me back to that moment and literally brought tears to my eyes. I definitely know and understand why it hurts. You have a beautiful healthy boy and you look amazing! Good luck on this journey through motherhood and congratulations!!

the same stuff happens to everyone that has a c-section, bedrest for 24 hours, leg machines for blood clots, you can’t get up to get the baby or do anything and the pain in your abdominal area is horribleeeee. also the nurses coming in constantly is standard for everyone, it’s so annoying. they have to come in like every hour to check your vitals, BP, etc... it’s just part of it! makes it impossible to sleep!
