I can definitely see it from certain songs/music videos: “1, 2 Step”. Explaining why Missy Elliot featured. Or “Like a Boy”. Possibly others too. But overall music career. No. She doesn’t capture Aaliyah’s smoothness/persona. Which further defines a performing artist. Even though Ciara dances with a soft voice. Growing up. I still have never confused Ciara for Aaliyah. (Edit)- She barely acted in main roles like Aaliyah. I still haven’t seen any R&B/Pop singer be as versatile with films. Going from _Romeo Must Die_ to _Queen of the Damned._ That’s a major jump for a newbie in Hollywood. Once she brought that vampiric energy to a stage performance. Aaliyah would’ve been undisputed.
