Little do they know that being called pretty by Cid isn't much of a compliment. He has been surrounded by beauties so long that he has actually become more interested in those that are not conventially beautifull. Instead of just common, he wants the most basic, most boring and a girl that doesn't want to get any spotlight. That is probably Cid's ideal girl for his mission of Roleplay to continue for several hundreds of years until he found more things to use his magic and turn himself into an immortal as he grew and make him study with the girls he raised.

@@assaulthetz kinda off topic but there is one girl that i know from another anime who fits the description....in a way have you watched Saekano(How to raise a "boring" girlfriend) Katou Megumi fits the so called "ideal" girl for Cid. tho she is the "main" heroine she is not super popular or even talented like the other heroines. to put it simply she doesn't standout and "boring".
