The Eminence in Shadow is a new isekai that doesn't actually take itself too seriously but you can't deny how interesting the characters can be especially regarding the protagonist Cid Kagenou or also known as Shadow, the founder of Shadow Garden himself. And despite being a psychopathic chunnibyo, you have to admit entertaining he is for his overpowered nature. That's why in this video, we'll find out everything we need to know about Cid Kagenou and see just how powerful he actually is. Also we'll mainly be going over his full story in this part 1 and continue with his powers and abilities in part 2.

Ok theory (and it does contain spoilers so read at your own risk): Magic entered Earth pretty much immediately when Cid died in his previous life. We get to see how it basically turned into an apocalypse because of magic beasts later on in the story. So what if the moment he "found magic", aka getting slammed by a truck, he ACTUALLY found it. And the combination of finding magic, his death, and his delusional desires created an entire world to fulfill his desires. But since everything has an equal and opposite reaction, this caused Earth to be essentially cursed by magic.

I think part of the charm of the series besides Cid’s weird self awareness is that he’s not a bad guy. After he unintentionally reverted alpha back to elf, he told her he didn’t need thanks and she can leave. but she’s the one that said she wanted to devote her life to paying him back so he made up that BS about the cult of diablos. He saves people mostly because he thinks it’s cool but he tries to work out the best outcomes for victims like Marie, Elizabeth, etc. Even credit crisis where he was blocking shadow garden was essentially their fault, and all he did was make counterfeits of the rival corporation. though he was fine with them going down as a side effect, he was going to just form a new company for them to run afterwards if Mutsugoshi went down and if he did nothing, credit crisis was going to happen anyways

More like Kazuma’s women are terrible with money and Cid’s women are great at it. Both are huge harem protagonists, though Cid definitely has more admirers. Kazuma does end up a pay to win whale at his isekai, and Cid ultimately remains in a poor mindset, despite spending as much as he likes as plot demands.

4:14 sad that this moment wasnt properly explained. Cult of Diablos was hunting Shadow Garden (more accurately was hunting those, who intercepted thier caravans with possessed children. Because Shadow Garden were rescuing them. Cult didnt know they were called Shadow Garden). And soon they located their base in abandoned city (where Cid killed bandits and saved Alpha). So girls had to flee and look for a new base (the moment in anime where Zetta was on a tree looking at aztec pyramid building in jungles). That's why they left Cid there

Cid Kagenou is entertaining for the same reason that Saitama is entertaining. They may both be overpowered, but unlike most OP main characters, the story leans into that trope in a fun way and doesn't take itself too seriously. Now, if only Cid could go up against One Punch Man... THAT would be one hell of a matchup. Hey, uhhh, Death Battle... think you could get on that? :P

I love Cid but if he fought Saitama he wouldn't stand a chance, unfortunately. Same thing with Garou. The thing with OPM is that there are lots of strong and op characters. It's just that since Saitama is so strong and op he makes everyone look weaker. Or fodder.

Three 'heroes' were seemingly the only survivors of the entire army that finally took down Diabolos. It was a long, brutal fight. Cid took on several dozen of the strongest hero at the same time and dealt with them all quite easily. So Cid is waaaaaaay stronger than Diabolos was a thousand years ago. Hilarious show, though. One of my favorites.

I've read the LN he's the strongest so far even when he traveled back to Japan. The girl who he saved on Japan before he got Isekai d is alive they form an organization fighting monsters... Aurora did not bring him to this world but only to the sanctuary. Spoiler: Cid did not went into the light of truck, but he was hit by the truck when to went for the light of "magic" which probably was the start of chaos in the Earth.

@@common2899 I’ve read the light novels and I can pretty much say that is highly unlikely from what I’ve read I won’t go into details about how their world works, should definitely check out the books tho

Was really enjoying it until I unexpectedly wanted to know more about this world and see more of the girls that make up Shadow Garden, so every time it cut to Cid doing his shenanigans I ended up being so bored with him now. Like they showed a flashback when they were younger that had them sit around a table like a family of sisters and I just....I want to know more about these gals.

Btw if yall are wondering what is different from i am atomic to I am The All- Range Atomic All Range lets him control the range so he doesnt blow up the city whilet I am Atomic is mainly for nuking.
