what a curious, beautiful, mysterious and misunderstood folk.

The dancers are hungarians. Only the style is "gypsy" csardas.

Ti nem ismertek olyan fogalmakat mint a kultúra, érték, szépség. Ezek önmagukban az élet értelmét jelentik. Szép videó.

I have a partner who is Hungarian Jewish and she told me that they did Csárdás at her mother's wedding... and that she'd teach me to do it sometime. Looks fun. The foot crossing kind of makes me think of Jewish folk dancing a little.

OMG! I get homesick to Hungary just listening to this music! I've always loved gypsy music and dance but unfortunately i can't trust them as much as i would love to. I would be scared to blend into the crowd with them but i'd definitely watch them from a safe distance. Fascinating people!

I keep coming back to this one---it's my favorite of all of these. There is hardly any melody---yet it stays with me the whole day. The dancers make it look so easy! This video looks from early 1970's---yet is in sepia tone---was that done to give it an "old-timey" look?

Interesting dance - I am discerning elements of folk dances from all over, which strikes me as so appropriate for a nomad's dance: cossack, greek, schuhplatteln, armenian - blended into their unique style. (cf Viennese cuisine which borrowed the best from all its neighbors...)

I like Hungarian. I use to have some HU friends. I can say thirty sentences in this language. However I read at the moment Eichmann's biography and I'm shocked. That what happened with Magyar Jewish in Horthy times make my frame of mind filthy. That's significant. It's difficult to comment what happened. We, Poles, didn't round-up Jews and didn't present them to Nazi. Do you have respect to Gypsy- wanderers?
