@@madelainemariani69 Hardly a need for insults as I am far from a genius. ...but thanks for the unnecessary sarcasm. It is absolutely NOT "soft speak"...that doesn't even make any sense. Those lyrics have been incorrectly attributed to this song for years. Matt Shultz definitively cleared this up in an interview awhile back. He said he has no clue where those erroneous lyrics originated & chuckled at the thought of folks actually believing those were correct. Perhaps the composer of the song doesn't know the correct lyrics, right? 🙄 Please tell me what "Soft speak with a mean streak" would even mean. Doesn't "So sweet with a mean streak" make a helluva lot more sense?

Why do so many get these lyrics wrong? It is "So sweet with a mean streak", not "Soft speak with a mean streak". Good grief 🤦🏻‍♂️ Too bad...you were actually doing a nice job up until that point.
