I live in Germany and cook Indian food only for myself. Which is a small amount always. I felt so bad every time I had to throw my most favourite part of garnishing and chutney. Can’t thank you enough. This is absolutely wonderful 🙏

Thanks a million for taking the time to do this video. Seeing the different ways was extremely educational. I bought some cilantro tonight and will wrap like you instructed. I'm tired of using only a bit and throwing away the rest which makes this an expensive herb! Blessings from South Florida.

Best Indian recipe channel. Your recipes are authentic. i just hate it when people add a whole bunch of oil and masalas to normal dishes. Your recipes have few ingredents and they taste quite good and healthy. I personally believe that too many ingredients spoil the recipe. Thanks for all your work. I really love you guys! :) Loads of love for creating such an authentic Indian punjabi recipe channel.

I put the entire stalk in a glass of water only with the roots submerged. The stalks rise up out of the glass and the leaves are above the rim of the glass. I cover the top loosely with a light plastic wrap or lightly with a paper towel but the leaves must be able to breathe. I put the glass inside the fridge and cut only what I need, replenishing water only as needed. The leaves and stalks stay crispy fresh so long as the water is clean and the leaves can breathe. They last forever until you use all of the leaves. I also keep them in the water and use the cilantro stems to flavor sambals, sauces, etc. REMEMBER, LET THE LEAVES BREATHE BUT KEEP THE ROOTS IN WATER.
@taradead
@taradead 8 жыл бұрын
water is unnecessary...there are no roots, so you're just water-logging and wasting the submerged stalks. Just rinse and shake off the cilantro after every time you use some, keeping it in a vented container on the top shelf of the fridge.

In many stores they sell coriander with the roots. So water is necessary. I follow the same technique and put the glass in the door of the fridge to avoid spilling the glass in the fridge, it works well.

i did it the way you said and i must say, i am soooo impressed! i wrapped it more that a week ago and other times by now the cilantro had gone black, but when i opened it today, it was still in perfect condition. not as very fresh and crisp as it was when i bought it, but not much difference either. i have done the same to my mint now and so happy that i am never going to waste money of cilantro going off in my fridge again before i can use it. you are a rockstar!!!
