CILLA BLACK You're my world Music Reaction .The very much loved English entertainer became a household name twice over.First as a singing superstar and friend of The Beatles. But Cilla then found even bigger fame with the popular dating show,Blind Date.
This song You're my world, was a Number 1 hit record for her.

Many years ago I visited "The Cavern" in Liverpool (where the 'hat-check girl' Cilla was discovered) and couldn't believe how tiny it was. I'm sure Cilla never needed a microphone!!! 🎙🎤 I was heartbroken when I heard the breaking news of her unusual and premature death in Spain on the late night radio. Played her old vinyl records for days after. Such a distinctive and powerful voice. 💜🎵

Originally an Italian pop song written by Umberto Bindi and Gino Paoli as a tribute to Elvis Presley's bride, Priscilla, the melody so impressed George Martin that he commissioned English lyrics for it and had his protegee Cilla Black record it. The Beatles connection comes from her Liverpool origins as it was John Lennon who urged Brian Epstein to manage her budding career . Paul McCartney wrote her debut single with producer George Martin, "Love of the Loved." It was her second single, this one, that moved her to the top of the charts. Thanks Agnete and Harri.

I was a 10 year old little girl when The Beatles visited & took America by storm. I immediately immersed myself in all things British & all things Beatle related which means I knew about Cilla Black & her rise to fame. If you were an American Beatlemaniac you knew about The Mersey beat, Gerry & The Pacemakers etc. "Anyone Who Had A Heart" is my favorite of Cilla's songs. Dionne Warwick also recorded it but it's Cilla's version that stuck with me. Btw, there was a really good miniseries about Cilla & it's here on KZfaq in 4 parts/episodes if anyone's interested. It really captures the time & the place & is very much worth watching! 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙

Cilla really knew how to deliver a song and I've always loved her voice. Many used to criticize her vocal, but you have to agree she really gave it her all. I always loved Anyone who had a heart by Cilla, no wonder to this day Dionne Warwick has never forgiven Cilla. Alice, is a masterpiece nobody sings it better, an other beautiful song, Where is Tomorrow, only reached the top 40 but a lovely song, there is a recording of Cilla singing live on Top of The Pops.

From the album Cilla from 1965, Cilla made this beautiful song top the UK charts and hit Number 26 in the US. The beautiful strings draw you in from the start and Cilla's amazing voice completes it. It was produced by George Martin. She was discovered by Brian Epstein at the Cavern Club and became the most famous female singer to emerge from The Mersey area. Great reaction Harri. Actually it was Ringo Starr who knew her first in childhood....apparently his mother used to do her mothers' hair. In fact, it was The Beatles who helped Cilla make her name in the first place. She was introduced to Brian by John Lennon, who persuaded him to audition her for a contract after his Aunt Mimi had heard her sing, and encouraged John to introduce them. Anything after that Brian Epstein was responsible for her success though.

You're My World Was the winning live performance in the finale of Sing Gaiing on TV5 in the Philippines, by a 13-year-old girl, Carmela Lorzano (this was not the kids' version of the show). It's a really terrific performance and she takes it up a notch at the end, plus it is built up like a fantasy performance, she's in a princess-like dress high on a pedestal. (there's a weird intro just before with a strange magician and snow dome before and they cut to live show). Here's of the link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jp6Fqcag2LHUY58.html
