Isn't "Slumdog Millionaire" an Indian film? If so, I would bet Cillian HAS seen that and just doesn't remember. Update: Thank you to all who corrected me. It's based on a novel by an Indian author, but it's a British film with a British director.
@cherylh46886 ай бұрын
@@user-co1sv2bq5d To be honest, I didn't hear Cillian say anything like that, User-co. . So I don't really know what you are talking about and couldn't even guess what he meant. But could it be that you are referring to a different video, or perhaps that English isn't your native language, and so, with his Irish accent, you have simply misunderstood him? In this video, the only thing I heard him say, before he was interrupted by Djimon, was, "No, I don't think I have. I don't think I have. Which I know is a terrible thing to say ..." (Or something close to that, anyway.) And by "I don't think I have," I interpret him to mean that he can't remember ever seeing an Indian film, so he might have, but doesn't think so because he can't remember one. And as for "I know that's a terrible thing to say," I think he really meant it was an unfortunate thing to have to ADMIT to because it implies he might have a low opinion of Indian films and had purposely ignored them OR that he was maybe a lazy actor who hadn't kept up with all the films he should have. But in any case, he's simply acknowledging that his saying he's never seen one, or can't remember one, is probably going to imply something unflattering about either himself or about Indian films or film makers. I hope that helps, User-co, altho' I'm not sure my explanation is any clearer than his words were, lol.

@@user-co1sv2bq5d You are most welcome, User-co, and I am very, very happy that I could help with your translation. And it is a special pleasure to be communicating with someone from a different country and culture, and especially one as nice as you seem to be.😍 And just to reassure you, although your translator may have made those few mistakes, it must still be a very good one because your English is quite good most of the time! He does not like press junkets. He does them because he knows the film has to be promoted. Also the press is usually part of an actor's contract for the film. In many cases they are not even paid for them.

I now like tv series than films and prefer comics, zombies, fantasy, Korean and seem to watch Nigerian films when I see my hairdresser or old Uni mate....need to see more movies.....will certainly look for Bandit Queen.

Why the apology for never seeing an Indian film? 😔😩 No need, Cillian! Don't feel ashamed. This world has become so judging, narcissistic and entitled. Why should Cillian have been expected to have seen an Indian film? Smh
@krautgazer4 ай бұрын
Cillian Murphy is trying to be respectful to the Indian audience. Also, he works in film and India has one of the largest film industries in the world, rivaling only with the American film industry, so it's probably a bit embarassing for him to admit he hasn't seen any Indian film ever.
