I really love this message but I think it's also really important to acknowledge that drug addiction and alcohol abuse are diseases and most of the time the person​ with the disease isn't doing it for "fun" they're doing it because they are coping with something and don't know any other way out. My brother died of an overdose Christmas of 2016 and I learned this the hard way.

Lauren’s description of herself at 16:57 is literally me. i hate meeting new people and talking to people i don’t know. i have never been to a party because i’ve never invited to one. the biggest party i’ve been to was my friends 13th birthday party, and since she is like me and her parents are amazing, there was only caprisuns. but i will say that one of my fridge doors are filled with beer (my parents are not alcoholics, they barely drink them) and every time i go to that fridge i have the feeling to take one of the beers and drink it, and im 13. i always stop myself and say no never don’t. 1) you are not 21 2) drinking does not help you in anyway shape or form, it only hurts you. this video is helping me so much more because now i have amazing ideas to do when i’m bored (other than watch Cimorellis videos!). thank you so much Cimorelli!

I wish I could find friends like this. I am always wanting to do things that do not revolve around alcohol, but it seems so difficult as you get older.

i'm glad you addressed this issue, as a 17 year old i think i am one of the few people at my school class who have never drank (and honestly have 0 interest in doing so, at least now). I'm 27 years old/Male/single, been strongly in the CimFam since 2011 (since your cover of Lady Gaga's "You and I"), and agree with just about every word you said in this video (except no men, no tears, no problems). I'm a traffic safety engineer and not a drinker by choice as I've read too many reports of people getting injured and killed in drunk driving crashes. However, it can feel really alienating and make it difficult to attract single 20-something women in my area (Massachusetts). I wish more people were like you. I was deeply moved by "You're Worth It" and the "Up At Night" and "Alive" albums, the ones since then haven't compared for me and I kind of felt you went a bit downhill and excluded us guys for awhile, but the letters cim are still (and have always been) part of almost all my (much longer) passwords because I believe in you through thick and thin. Your "Up At Night" poster is still on my bedroom wall. I've seen you live 3 times, most recently in Boston in 2016, and I'd totally date any of you in a heartbeat. You're not only gifted singers, but kind, thoughtful, loving, caring, beautiful human beings inside and outside who I deeply admire. Your cover of Loren Gray's "My Story" is amazing - the talent, the harmony, and the pure fun - I've probably watched it 5-6 times already. Would love to hear from you soon.

Two more ideas: *Learn a new language, no need to be fluent right away but just a few basic words may work and can be helpful in the future and learning can be fun! Use videos or audio for even more fun. * Join a volunteer group you get to not only help other people, but make a lot of friends at the same time, and trust me, it will keep ypu occupied if you commit to it enough 😉 I'm kinda like Lauren I hate crowded places and sometimes get super nervous about talking to other people and I don't drink alcohol for health reasons, so I try to avoid those situations whenever I can. Soo I feel ya and I know it's hard but I'm a work in progress and so can you, just don't give up 😁😊

Wow this is crazy! I am on my 7 th day of being sober from alcohol and drugs.iv been addicted for 15 yrs(yes I'm 30& love u guys!!) It got really bad past 2 yrs I hit rock bottom and I'm trying to stay strong. I am very proud of myself for staying sober and finally wanting to this time I have never wanted to now I do and I feel like I have a future to look forward to it's just it's very hard thing! I have another fun thing to do! I know Christina loves writing inspirational things and likes to put them everywhere, take cardboard, from boxes you get from anything and everything and Chalkboard Paint, cut the boxes to various sizes and then spray paint them with the chalkboard paint as directed. I recommend at least two or three coats. Then use colorful chalk to write your quotes, calendars, favorite song lyrics and etc! And when you find another project to paint or write erase and start again! Really fun to make them and if they get damaged you could always get more cardboard and start again. Hope this helps! BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!!!

I'm Lisa's age and I've been following you guys for years I honestly wanted to say I've been through so much overcame a drug addiction with no help or support I quit for my kids and knowing as my 8 year old gets older I play her your videos constantly at first she was bored it wasn't what she was used to but I wanted so badly for her to love you guys the way I do and to my happiness she is now embracing your music and she told me just yesterday as we watched your latest music cover she wants to be just like you guys and I honestly couldn't be prouder to have the love of my life have such loving positive role models. Role models I look upto myself, don't ever change you're a brightness this world needs.

It’s hard when no one understands what you’re going through. Trying to explain the situation over and over again to someone who doesn’t have an idea of what’s actually going on and is just trying to be “supportive”. When there’s no one there and you have to fend for yourself to try to better yourself, you don’t have someone encouraging you to keep going and do better. How can you get help if no one is willing to actually understand and listen to my problems ? How can someone hold onto something so difficult and not cave in and take the easy way ? It’s hard having to do it all for yourself when there’s no one who can understand and support me. But you guys are so inspirational and I thank you all for speaking on subjects that are serious such as anxiety and depression. You guys are amazing❤️

Hey guys, I totally agree with everything you guys said. All the way through high school and college I stayed sober and never gave into any peer person. I thought it was fun to experience things without those things and I've always felt scared about not being in control of my body. But if some people are struggling with the peer pressure in society, if you tell people that you don't wanna drink or anything, the people who are still pressuring you aren't your friends. I had countless times were I would tell people that I was sober and that I didn't want anything to do, and whoever it was thought it was super cool and amazing that I was able to do that. If they continue to pressure you to do something that you're not comfortable with then they are NOT YOUR FRIENDS. Just be yourself and be present. Your true friends would love you either way.

Most people who are actually addicted to drugs and alcohol don’t do it for fun. It’s to mask some sort of pain or to forget about life. I don’t think making up a dance is gonna help me not do drugs.

This is my story. I'm 13. I've been peer pressured way too many times. Into smoking, drinking and drugs. Don't ask me why teens my age think it's okay. One day, I was having a bad day. A guy told me to smoke. Marijuana. I did. I was out of touch. With reality. After 5th period, I passed out. I wake up in a hospital. The doctor told my mom about what I did. My mother was disappointed. She told me that the guy who made me smoke, went to juvinial hall. Since then, I've been to support group, therapy. I've never smoked or did anything since then. My reputation, however, went to rock bottom. Notes in my locker saying wimp how could you? He was good to you. He was popular. I switched schools a month later and here I am. Standing strong and fighting to never put anything into my body that will risk my future. I was 12 then. Now I'm 13. I'm never going to do that again. My mom was relieved. I've picked up me hobbies that calm me down. KZfaq, writing, guitar and piano. It's much better with a future than without.

This is so refreshing to hear. I’m 18 and a freshman in college and my whole Instagram feed is allllll people at parties smoking and drinking and I’m like ???? I have a small group of my best friends that don’t drink or smoke and it’s so awesome because I have the most fun with them.
