Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I grew up in the Cincinnati metro area and always cheered for the Reds. I moved to the Milwaukee area about a year ago and my goal is to try to go to one game every series they play in Milwaukee (last picture in that sequence was from last week when the Reds played in Milwaukee).

I was there in 2006 when my White Sox played there. Beautiful ballpark, great tradition, friendly people, my only complaint was the hot dogs, probably the worst I’ve ever had, that aside I’d definitely love to go back

Interesting. I always go for the “big red smokeys” instead of a regular hot dog. I remember doing that the first time I was ever at the ballpark and never looked back. It’s a beautiful ballpark though.

@@SACSportsAdventures Hey man! I hope you have a great time there. I suggest you go in from the outfield gates near Park at the park for some good views of the field. Also in the 4th inning behind home plate, fans from Padres twitter meet up and There's usually some great people there. I might advise you to take the trolley there to avoid some outrageous parking prices around the park. And you can't go wrong with any of the food choices there, especially the nachos, pizza port and hodads burgers (a bit spendy tho of course) Also at the very top of the park on the right field side has some great views of the bay and the Coronado bridge! Good choice to see a game where they're wearing their new city connects too. I hope you enjoy!!!!

Oh man, you are SO young. I’m only 43, and still feel like I’m 18, being into baseball, movies, video games, travel etc. But to see someone who was just a very very little kid in the 2000’s? It blows my mind. But I have to say, I’m glad that people you age ARE into baseball. Personally I love it, and part of why I love it is because it IS traditional and because it DOES last for 3+ hours. But I feel like traditional stuff like that, or even the virtue of patience is slowly being lost by more recent generations. When I hear that the MLB has attendance problems though, I just think “Why!??” Because I love it. I’d be at dozens of games every season if I just made more money, and was in an area with more MLB ballparks. could go to. But I just don’t have those things.
@SACSportsAdventures
@SACSportsAdventures Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’m only 25. Haha! I grew up playing and watching and had a falling out with baseball for a while but got back into it a lot recently and I love visiting different ballparks and taking in games. It’s a much different pace than other sports and the younger generation has a shrinking attention span so I think that’s a major contributing factor.

@@SACSportsAdventures Thats actually very interesting. I have a somewhat similar story. When I was a little kid I was into baseball and played t-ball and regular little league for a couple of years. Then after an incident where I was hit in the forehead with a fly ball and had to go to the hospital, it sort of traumatized me, being just a kid, and I got completely out of baseball and VERY into basketball for a good 12 years. But after a while, I felt like pro basketball was changing in ways that I didn’t like, becoming less traditional, much more corporate, and the players focusing less on the game and more on money. Which I suppose you could argue happens in any pro sports, but baseball seemed like it was more tradition, has more history (which I love), and the players had to work harder to get to the pros, with the various levels of minor league ball. So since I was about 19 or 20, it’s been the main pro sport I’ve really been into. I grew up in the Midwest though, even though I’ve lived in Florida for several decades now, so I’ve been a Cubs fan for a long time, with the Tigers being sort of my secondary and American League team. In retrospect, I wish I hadn’t lost a lot of years missing baseball like I did, mostly over one incident. When you’re just a very little kid though, things like that can have a huge impact on you. I’ve been so glad the past 25 years or so that I have rediscovered baseball. I’ve been trying to get to all 30 ballparks, but living in the southeast, it’s difficult. I’ve been to 9 of them so far, but I’m working on it.

@@cgimovieman thanks so much for sharing! Hockey has always been my number one sport with baseball typically at 2. Have you seen my video from Wrigley Field yet?! I’ve been to 9 MLB stadiums as well (and one that’s no longer in use) and at planning on a 10th this summer!

@@SACSportsAdventures Spencer, yes, I've watched all of your MLB ballpark videos. Including Wrigley. Of which I'm obviously VERY partial to, and have done some pretty cool stuff there. I've been trying as best that I can to get to at least 1 new ballpark I've never been to each year, but it's tough being in the southeast and on a tight budget. I'm always up to Michigan each year to visit family, but usually around the holidays when the baseball season is over. I'm also a huge distance runner, and in Chicago for the marathon each year the first week in October. But unfortunately that's usually only about 1 week after the Cubs have stopped playing. But in 2016 it obviously wasn't, and I was able to get to the first postseason game there. So glad for that. Something I'll never forget, even if it wasn't the World Series that year. I've actually been to the cities where a lot of other ballparks are, but it's either been outside of baseball season, I just haven't had time on the visit, or the team was on away games at the time. And I really don't count having been to a park unless I actually see a game there.

I am enjoying these videos. I am also trying to visits every Major League Park. I will be up to about 10 after I go to Minneapolis in a few weeks. Was in Cincinnati for a couple of games 3 years ago. I’m a Brewers fan and as much as I liked the Reds ballpark, they shut out the Brewers 3-0 the first night and 1-0 the next day, so the outcome was horrible for me. Plus the 1-0 game was in the mid 90’s and there was a one hour rain delay in the 8th inning.

Just imagine if they put this stadium in Covington, Kentucky and faced it northeast. Then you'd get great views of the Ohio River and Cincinnati skyline. Of course they'd be the Kentucky Reds 😂. The Reds use to have great crowds and fans in the 90s but like Oakland, bad ownership has made fans apathetic. Damn shame what those owners did to Cincinnati and Oakland.

@@SACSportsAdventures Although many teams play outside their city. The Jets/Giants play in NJ, Cowboys in Arlington, 49ers in Santa Clara, Rams/Chargers in Inglewood, Rays in St Pete, etc so they could still be the Cincinnati Reds if they put a future stadium in Covington facing the Cincinnati skyline.

It was paid for by the tax payers of Hamilton County. I normally don’t discuss how the stadiums are funded because that can bring up some awkward politics and Cincinnati is a great example of that since there was a tax increase to fund the stadium. It’s something that I can definitely consider adding in moving forward though.
