Ever wondered how exactly an incinerating toilet works, or how you use it? You'll be surprised how easy it is! This toilet saves us so much hassle from not having to manage a black tank or dealing with composting. Sure it's expensive, but for us 100% worth it.

Hi there, might you be responding to questions soon? I'm also wondering if you're still happy with it. If you've had any issues with it? I'm planning on getting one and hoping for some honest reviews. Would love to see an update. ...Curious if it splashes (like did the water you demonstrated splash upward into the bowl when it dropped?) ...does urine ever do that? Big -most important question I think: do you ever smell a poop or pee smell outside in the air while it's incinerating? how about afterwards? That's a big concern as when I pull in to RV parks I'd hate to be "that guy" ...putting neighbors thru that, etc. Could you please post an update and possible answer my questions when you have a moment? Would super appreciate it. ...Thanks Steph :)

So sorry for the very late reply here. We've been busy with projects for a while. I've never noticed any splashing of liquids when the paper liner drops into the chamber. The metal "bowl" that opens up to drop the liner into the burn chamber never shows any residual liquid on it. Likewise when cleaning the toilet, I've never noticed any liquids outside of the burn chamber on any interior parts We haven't had any issues with the toilet since we installed it a year ago. There is no smell of burning pee/poo, as all the gasses from the burn chamber flow through the catalytic filter before exiting through the roof vent. There can be a slight smell of something burning if you tend to use a lot of TP. It just smells like you're burning paper at that point, which can be visible for a few seconds through the roof vent as a white smoke. However that quickly clears and you don't see any visible exhaust smoke.

I have been debating a composting toilet or an incinerator toilet for my boat i am building. I want to continuously cruise so this toilet really interests me. I have a few questions if you dont mind me asking: How often do you have to run a burn cycle, is it every use or only when you go #2? What happens if the toilet breaks, and has it broken for you before? In terms of gas, does it require any kind of special ventilation? Iis this your main toilet? Or do you guys try to use other toilets if you can to save money? Is it easy to clean? Thanks for reading, sorry I know its a lot of questions haha

Sorry for the very late reply here. You run a burn cycle every time you use it (1&2). The toilet has never broken on us, and if it did break, I would contact our dealer for spare parts. Since it's propane powered, it needs an air intake and an exhaust vent through the roof. This is our main toilet that we use every day. We have a 100lbs propane tank, so we go very long periods of time before having to refill.

And yes, it's very easy to clean. Just empty the ash bin when it's full. Rinse the catalytic filter, and wipe down the rest of the exterior to keep it clean.

@@thebeersbus how long does 100lbs last you? Between 2 people or more?
@thebeersbus
@thebeersbus Ай бұрын
@@nimbus_tv Usually about 1-1/2 to 2 months. It depends on the time of year though. We have a tankless water heater and I love taking long showers in the winter lol. We can definitely make our tank last longer though if need be, but with frequent travel, it's not a big deal to just keep it topped off. If we ever needed to, we can connect a 20lb bbq tank in an emergency.

Can you urinate in that toilet and then burning heat will evaporate the liquid?
@thebeersbus
@thebeersbus 2 ай бұрын
That's correct. The toilet accepts #1 and #2. At the same time or separate. All the gasses go through the catalytic filter before exiting through the roof vent.

How much heat does it produce inside the room? Is it noticeable at all?
@thebeersbus
@thebeersbus Ай бұрын
It does produce some heat, but it's not really noticeable at all. The insides are insulated, and the chimney is always wrapped in a thick foam insulation. Our mini split is near by the bathroom anyways, so we would never notice a rise in temps. It nice in the winter though as it does keep the bathroom a bit warmer, as well as provides for a nice heated seat if a burn cycle has already been running lol.

$4000+... Not to mention the propane waste n the refillable bags...EXPENSIVE!!

It's by no means a cheap investment. However it's better than any of the alternatives for nomadic or off-grid living. Composting toilets aren't really composting anything, and I didn't want to have sewage sitting in a bag/bucket all the time. With the incinerator I never have to worry about emptying a black tank, and it doesn't eat into our fresh water supply like an RV flush toilet would. All this allows us to stay off-grid for much longer as we only need to refill propane and water. Our 100lbs propane tank easily lasts us close to 2 months, and that's with using our toilet, hot water heater, indoor range, and outdoor griddle. As for the liners, I'd say they are a drop in the bucket in terms of costs. We're going on a year+ and still haven't exhausted our initial supply. Well just re-up again with another 500-1000 and call it good.
