Hi. Really enjoyed your video. I have a SE2 which was bought for me as a child in the 1960's for Christmas. I had hours and hours of fun with it. After 50+ years of it being stored in the loft, and being a hands on sought of guy you have inspired me to give it a good clean up, and I'm now looking forward to firing her up again. The component parts that you mention in your video are identical to mine, and do look very similar to a Hammerite finish.

Nice job mate. I just scored one off evilbay, a Griffin & George version model, however, it has a regulator valve and pretty sure it's from the early/mid 70s as it has the pressed end caps so it's a bit of a mystery. It needs a resto job too. several weeks ago i bought a new SP4 which is a beautiful runner with the most truest running flywheel i think ive seen in a long time! Well done, i enjoy your videos.

l have one of these,with a white handel on the burner,thats one of the ways of ageing them,white handel from 1961(good yearl was born),after that red handel to when they stopped making them.

This SE3 dates from between 1967 and 1972. If you need more information let me know.

Hello friend. I just acquired one of these and am having a bit of trouble getting it to run. Do you have a good reference for the timing of the cylinders? I'd like to make sure mine is correct. Thank you ..

I think it's mentioned in the video, but set one with the little end at the bottom. Set the other opposite to this, i.e, one little end at 6 o' clock and the other little end at 12 o' clock.
