yo Circa is my favorite band. Many years ago Juturna fucked me up so bad during a heavy mushroom trip i literally changed my life for the better after that. still do this day the most unpleasant trip I've had, but still one of the ones I'm most grateful for

What has been can never be erased, even when all of this and all of us are ashes and dust; nothing can ever change the fact that a of it has happened, the good and the bad. I mean every lyric of this song is gut wrenching in how it so accurately describes my introverted, depressed, anxious ass. While I do have friends, I never feel like they understand anything I have to say, even though I go so far out of my way to connect with and support them. I hide my own problems and feelings in an effort to not burden anyone else. But it's like... when is it my turn to receive a little support? And then there are allegories that can be made to my time in service, most of my adult life. All of my brothers and sisters, the people I became closest to, are spread around the world. Assuming they're still alive. And since leaving after 12 years, it's been so hard to connect with anyone else on a deeper-than-surface level. I know this song isn't about service members, but godamn does it hit home on that front in a lot of different ways. We are the loneliest of men. This song is beautiful, but I can't listen to it without a bit of wet eye.

I agree with you. All of my friends and family are gone. They moved to different states so they could get a better job and make more money. People are disappointing. They always let you down.

This comment killed me man, going through it right now I hope you are doing okay. You are not alone I miss all my brothers that I left and have had a really hard time making friends/ relationships. I know I'm not alone in the world but it sure feels like it most of the time.

@@lukedavis342 It gets better dude. Transition from military to civilian is a really hard thing, especially if you joined young. A lot of that loneliness comes from living a life diametrically opposed to how we want to live. How most people do. I joined at 17, got out at 31, and am now 38. It's taken those entire 7 years to integrate into civilian life and I'm still not all the way there. Most of my friends from that time are indeed gone, but I've made so many more since. And so On Letting Go of the fact that Your Friends Are Gone. And it's alright. And I know that lonely feeling. But all you have to do is reach out to one of your brothers/sisters and you'll be reminded that you are not alone. Hell, you can reach out to me. Either way, I wish you well.

People are usually 100% big bundles of disappointment. But sometimes they'll surprise you. You just have to inject whatever positivity you have into them. They'll probably still screw you over, but at least you tried.

9 yrs deep and it hits as hard as the first time. Never fails. Way back when my depression hit rock bottom, circa was there for me . Many nights I'd contemplate my existence, and when nobody would answer, circa would always bring me back from the edge. 'We are the Loneliest of men... we're the LOOONNLIIEEESSTTT!!!!" 💯🙏💪 Everytime.

Pretty much all of my friends are gone. Nobody hears me. Nobody cares. Surface level existence when it comes to contact. I get into relationship ships and give a piece of my self to every one who embarks like two passing ships in the night. I always ask people how they are and let them know I care. I try to call old friends but the truth is if I never did then they wouldn’t either. Perhaps they’re lonely too. Are we shells, living an existence that feels like we are just passing time til the grave? This song captures the yearning to make your self whole again on another level. Dealing with the passing of time, the human experience and the endless consciousness that lets us know things are never going back to the way they once where. Pain, fear and yet you can almost picture Anthony’s trials and tribulations. The endless fight in his mind between good and evil. Dealing with the person he’s become in his mind. A reflection in the mirror of sorts. 😢 We are the loneliest of men. A generation born to witness the end of the world.

rezafu so there’s a band called protest the hero. You will enjoy it if you can do metro. They sing don’t worry. Yah there’s screams but they’re melodic. The Songs are amazing. Anyway the singers sister sings in a couple songs . Her voice is so entirely beautiful. They together are absolutely perfect. In fact his voice is at its best sounding at the same times

The older I get, the more I understand this song. I try so hard to be close to people and to cultivate relationships but it feels like I’m just incomprehensible to most and they don’t bother to try and connect with me in return. I'm over here by myself not giving a shit about the music or the beat or the drums~ Just totally focused on the vocals and trying/dreaming of replicating them myself~ Seriously, I love circa as a band, the whole deal. The whole sound, lyrics, depth, feeling~ etcetera ~ but it's always been Green's vocals, even when I thought it was a chick singer. Prolly my favourite vocalist.
