Howzit bro! Thank you so much for this video. I am a huge fan of your videos and this one in particular. I like using circle hooks and after I watched this video I realised that I was typing the hook using the wrong knot. This is a real eye opener. Thank you

Another way to quickly snel a circle hook is by tying a 3 loop figure of 8 knot onto the shank of the circle hook

There are a couple- we must do a separate video on knots (we will never run out of videos, actually🤣)- but Snell knot is what we use 100% of the time🤙🏻

100 percent agree Land it is super strong once hooked a dog(by mistake ) the massive sidecutters used for cutting locks wouldn't brake it they just bent a little

You know what I find from J hook to circle hooks is very simple if you are an Untraceable fan you hook with even wire Hook that Balimoria fishing tackle offers I'm hooked and released but I'm back guys. Well done on the reels under 3000.00 video was great. Be safe and God bless 🙏

@@untraceablefishing I fish both also according to specie's I target but mostly circle hooks. Just easier to unhook the fish for a quick release.

Circle hooks will out fish j hooks any day, size 1 to 2/0 circle hooks will catch black bream and similar size fish, thanks for the video

Thanks for the info, answered most of the questions I had at the start of the video. I know the physical difference between offset and inline hooks, in what scenario would you choose one over the other or is it a case of either / or? Also I noticed some hooks have the eye bent back a little and some are straight does this matter?

Wait for shad season, and Dean fishing sideways, and you’ll know the difference🤣🤣🤣 On a serious note, Dean swears by offset for shad, because of his fishing style- he believes it makes a difference, personally, I don’t see it. The eye bent backwards can play its part- I have a buddy who swears by the eye set backwards for blue fish. It’s easier to physically take these hooks, try your usual fishing knot, as well as a snell knot and test out by your strike in your hand (gently of course). Maybe we should do these tests in a future video🤙🏻🎣

@@untraceablefishing Thanks for the response, Agreed, the test would make a nice video. I've always used a snell on the circle hooks however I've heard of people doing a figure 8 on the shank, never tried it for myself.

@@kavz187 yes, snell is always the go to for circles- it makes sense. Some guys also use the Rapala knot. Anyway, we have a huge range of knot videos coming out in a couple weeks🤙🏻🎣

Thanks so much. For us- CIRCLE all the way for all types of fishing. BUT, it can take some getting used to and trial and error. For the smaller reef species we still stick with J hooks (although it’s very seldom we target anything small these days). So try it out on a circle- the hook up rate is much better, and if you are leaving your rod pegged, chances are you’ll get a hookup without having to set the hook yourself🤙🏻
