In motion of earth about the sun, if size of earth is ignored then it is revolution or circular motion but if size of earth is not ignored then it is rotational motion. For point size revolution but for extended bodies rotational motion

for rotational motion, the axis passes through the object for that's not the case for circular motion(axis does not pass through it...)
