Thank you, when I added the source loopback to the nve, the loopback interface goes administratively down. this is only happing in switch 1, switch2 is all good, I don't know what is the issue here, I checked the configuration and the are all correct.. any thoughts.?

My understanding is VxLAN frame = 50 byte + Ethernet frame - which is untagged frame ? If tagged frame then what happen to 12 bits allocated for VLAN ID in VxLAN frame ?

what application are you using it for simulation? Because i'm using cisco virl with nex-osv and my peer is not work. and peer states is down.

Thanks for providing a working configuration scenario! Sad that this requires Nexus 9000, in Nexus 7000 there's no "ingress-replication protocol static" command on nve interface. Maybe someone knows a replacement? I want to continue use of Nexus 7000 VIRL images because they are much more lightweight (Nexus 7000 uses 3 Gb of RAM vs 8 Gb for Nexus 9000, and one CPU core instead of two).

What if I have another vlan (let's say 100) which needs to be extended. In that case would I need another set of vni and nve ?

This is cool and all... but you need to show us the "why's." Why do we use the ingress-replication? Why are we not using mcast-group? Is it best-practice to use loopbacks for this kind of configuration? Why or why not? Etc... Breezing through the config like this is not as helpful to the audience as you would think. Just some constructive criticism.
